KARACHI, Pakistan (August 30) - Shawwal moon has been sighted in Karachi; therefore, Eid-ul-Fitr 2011 (1432 AH) will be celebrated tomorrow (Wednesday/August 31), private news channels reported.

Chairman of the Central Moon Sighting Committee (Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee), Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, has already announced officially in the press conference.

He said, “Moon for the month of Shawwal-ul-Mukarram has been sigted and tomorrow will be Eid.”

He further told that although most parts of the country were partly cloudy but sufficient evidences of moon sighting have been reported to the moon sighting committee from different cities of Pakistan, including Ziarat, Rawalpindi, Abbottabad and Vehari.

If not impossible then it is very rare that majority of the Muslims across the globe celebrating Eid ul-Fitr on the same day and this rarity is just about to happen this year.

Reportedly, astronomical data hints that there is a possibility for sighting the new moon of Shawwal, 1432 AH in Pakistan on the evening of August 30, stated Pakistan Meteorological Office. 

On the other hand; the Islamic Crescent Observation Project (ICOP) is expecting that Eid-ul-Fitr this year will be celebrated in most of the Muslim countries on August 31 (Wednesday), a UAE-based newspaper reported. Although ICOP excluded few Muslim countries from this assumption based on the starting of Ramadan in these countries on August 1, including some countries in the Middle East, north and central Asia and northern Africa; but even then most of the Muslims will be celebrating Eid ul-Fitr on the same day, Wednesday (August 31).  

The basis of this conclusion is mentioned as the relatively shorter period of sighting the moon in most of the Muslim countries on August 29. 

According to Pakistan Met office the weather will be clear in most parts of the country on Tuesday (August 30) evening with only partially cloudy southern parts; therefore, the moon can be sighted on Tuesday (August 30) resulting in Eid ul-Fitr falling on Wednesday (August 31).

Shopping and Preparation for Celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on Full Swing in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD, Pakistan (August 20) – Its 19th Ramzan (Ramadan Kareem) and there might be 10 or maximum 11 days left for this Holy month. People are now gearing up for one of the biggest Islamic celebration of the year i.e. Eid-ul-Fitr.

Preparation for Celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr on Full Swing in Faisalabad

The activities for the preparation to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr are gaining momentum and the number of buyers and stalls especially that of bangles are popping up in the streets with every passing day in Faisalabad.

People can be seen now shopping garments, shoes, jewellery and other accessories before and after Iftar (breaking of fasting) till late at night. Traditionally ladies, especially young girls look more interested in bangles stalls purchasing bangles matching with their Eid dresses and shoes. 

Nevertheless, businesses of clothes and garments are also at boom these days and many tailors in the city have stopped taking further orders for sewing clothes. 

“People in large number bring cloth and we, to meet the deadline, are working day and night to complete the task but have no room for extra burden. And therefore, refuse to accept further orders,” said a tailor in People’ Colony. Satiana Road, Susan Road and D-Ground markets are focal point of the Eid buyers in Faisalabad.

Large Number of Rallies Led by Renowned Scholars to Celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)

MULTAN - Different rallies were arranged by the devotees of Islam and Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in the city to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) here on Wednesday. 

The rallies were led by famous scholars of the city; including Mualana Farooq Saeedi, Mualana Ata Ullah, Dr Siddique Qadri. These scholars (Ulema’s) expressed different facets of the life of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
 

Thousands of people from the city and its bounds gathered in Clock Tower Square (Ghanta Ghar Chowk). The whole city was resonant with Darood-u-Salam on the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

Reportedly, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence squad, Elite force, Police force, Fire Brigade and other civil defence departments and volunteers discharged their duties.
