Iran's Guardian Council Approves Britain Ambassador Expulsion Bill

TEHRAN, Iran (Nov. 28) – Parliamentary bill demanding ousted of Britain’s ambassador to Tehran has been approved by Iran’s Guardian Council on Monday. According to website of state-run television; the parliamentary bill has become a law after getting approval from Guardian Council.

Iran's Guardian Council Approves Britain Ambassador Expulsion Bill
The affirmation by the Guardian Council, whose jurists and clerics evaluate parliamentary texts and bills to make sure the same remain under Islamic and constitutional rules, means Iran’s foreign ministry now has to implement the law and Britain’s envoy, Dominick Chilcott, has to leave the country within stipulated time frame of two weeks. Chilcott took the charge of this post in October this year.

Britain has warned to act “robustly” if the expulsion is carried out.

As reported earlier, Iran’s parliament passed a bill with significant majority on Sunday to expel Britain's ambassador as a reaction to the latest Western sanctions imposed on Iran’s nuclear program. The lawmakers in the parliament also hinted the likelihood of dealing "other countries that behave in a manner similar to that of Britain."

In coordination with U.S. and Canada; Britain ceased all of its financial contacts with Tehran on November 14, a week after the report from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) strongly suggesting Tehran was researching nuclear weapons.

Iran has dismissed the UN report and insists its nuclear program is for completely peaceful purposes.

NATO airstrikes continued even after Pakistani commanders requested to cease fire: Major General Athar Abbas, DG ISPR

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (Nov. 28) – According to latest claims by official sources of Pakistan army; the NATO air-strikes that killed 24 Pakistani troops continued for almost two hours, even after Pakistani army commanders had requested NATO forces to stop.

Protests erupted in several Pakistani cities Sunday after 24 soldiers killed in NATO air strikes on Saturday.
DG ISPR (Inter Services Public Relation), Major General Athar Abbas, said the Pakistani soldiers at two border posts were the victims of an unprovoked aggression. He said the attack lasted almost two hours and that commanders had contacted NATO counterparts while it was going on, asking “they get this fire to cease, but somehow it continued.”

Ties between Pakistan and the United States were already worsening before the deadly attack and the ISPR statement on Monday has further ignited the anti-America sentiments in masses throughout Pakistan.

NATO has described the Saturday’s incident as “tragic and unintended” and has promised a thorough probe. On the other hand, undisclosed Afghan officials have claimed that a joint Afghan-NATO force on the Afghan side of the border received incoming fire from the direction of the Pakistani posts, and called in air-strikes.

NATO’s air-strikes on Saturday have taken the worsening US-Pakistan, once the biggest allies in the ‘war against terror’, ties to the lowest since last 10 years and certainly added to popular anger in Pakistan against the US-led coalition presence in Afghanistan. Many in the army, parliament, general public and media already believed that the US and NATO are aggressive to Pakistan and that the Afghan Talibans are not the enemy.

Pakistan retaliated the NATO air-strikes by blocking supply routes for US-led troops in Afghanistan and ordering U.S. forces to leave Shamsi air base.

What Really Happened to Strauss-Kahn? -- An eye-opening investigative report by Edward Jay Epstein

NEW YORK – ‘What Really Happened to Strauss-Kahn?’ is an investigative report, published in the New York Review of Books, months after former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was accused of sexually assaulting a hotel maid.

Conspiracy Theory by Edward Jay Epstein: What Really happened to Strauss-Khan?
The report throws light on many aspects which were initially overlooked, intentionally or unintentionally, which might lead to establish a theory that Strauss-Kahn – one time French presidential hopeful – was a victim of conspiracy to let him down ahead of the country’s 2012 polls.

An important fact is that Dominique Strauss-Kahn was, at the time of incident, pulling ahead of Nicolas Sarkozy in the polls and it is just unbelievable that he could throw everything away unless he was trapped to do so.

Edward Jay Epstein, author of the article, wrote:

“I didn’t say it was a political conspiracy but I would say that people wanted to find evidence of an indiscretion that could derail either his candidacy or even [his work at] the fund (IMF).”

Epstein unfolds many secrets (rather open facts) which are skeptic enough to believe that Strauss-Kahn was got trapped in sexual harassment charges. Few of the open secrets are mentioned below:

• Strauss-Kahn’s “IMF BlackBerry” had been “hacked” and later went missing, which couldn’t be traced until now.

In support of the fact; report says that one of the Strauss-Kahn’s private emails sent from his BlackBerry to his wife, Anne Sinclair, had been read at the UMP - political party of President Sarkozy - offices in Paris.

It was informed (rather warned) to Strauss-Kahn, through a text message in the morning on the same day the incident happened, by his female friend working with UMP.

• The report also mentions a recording from a video surveillance camera which shows that two of the hotel staff performing a three minute “dance of celebration” and “high-fiving” each other after knowing that hotel maid Nafissatou Diallo had indicted Strauss-Kahn of abusing her on May 14.

• Another one of the most important aspect highlighted by the Epstein report states that hotel key-card records show that Diallo was in room 2820 with a mystery man immediately before and after her sexual encounter with Strauss-Kahn, suggesting he might have been an co-conspirator.

• Further, the report states that security expert at Sofitel, John Sheehan, spoke to a “man with a heavy French accent” as he was on his way to the hotel after being told of the sexual assault on Diallo.

• The Sofitel’s electronic key records show that apart from Diallo, another person had entered Strauss-Kahn’s suite while he was showering.

VIDEO: 10,000 walked as zombies in Mexico to set new world record

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (Nov. 27) – In a bid to set a world record; about ten thousand people, dressed as zombies, walked through the streets of capital of Mexico.

10,000 walked as zombies in Mexico
The organizers of the “Zombie Walk” in Mexico City claimed it to be the biggest ever held and apparently broke the current Guinness world record - held by Asbury Park in the US – in which 4,093 zombie-dressed people walked in 2010.

Zombie walks have gained immense popularity throughout the world in recent years. The obsession for disguising as the "living dead" has been catalyzed by movies, television, video games and literature about the zombies.

In October, a group in Brisbane (Australia) has also claimed to set the record after arranging a march with 8,000 zombie-dressed people.

Such kind of zombie walks are relatively more popular in Latin America; like Lima in Peru, Santiago in Chile and Sao Paulo in Brazil, specially in Mexico where the "Day of the Dead" is a national celebration and where brutal killings by drugs gangs dominate the news.

Iran to expel Britain ambassador, Dominick Chilcott, over Western sanctions

TEHRAN, Iran (Nov. 27) – Reacting to the new era of Western sanctions forced on Iran’s nuclear program; country’s parliament has passed a bill with significant majority on Sunday to oust Britain's ambassador.

A majority of 179 voted for reducing diplomatic relations by at least expelling the ambassador (AFP/File, Atta Kenare)
As much as 179 votes came in favor of the bill, four voted against it while eleven were abstained from voting. Now the bill will be presented to Iran's Guardians Council for approval before it takes effect.

The bill intends to decrease diplomatic relations to the more junior level of charge d'affaires within 2 weeks and cutting economic ties with Britain to a minimum, according to a live broadcast on state radio. The lawmakers in the parliament also hinted the likelihood of dealing "other countries that behave in a manner similar to that of Britain."

In response to the parliamentary bill was presented on Wednesday, Britain said "it would be regrettable" if its envoy to Tehran, Dominick Chilcott, were to be expelled. Chilcott took the charge of this post in October this year.

In coordination with U.S. and Canada; Britain ceased all of its financial contacts with Tehran on November 14, a week after the report from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) strongly suggesting Tehran was researching nuclear weapons.

Iran has dismissed the UN report and insists its nuclear programme is for entirely peaceful purposes.

Britain and Canada have embassies in Tehran. The United States does not, having closed it after Islamic students took its diplomats hostage in 1979 following Iran's revolution.

With time-lapse cameras, BBC crew recorded salt water being excluded from the sea ice and sinking.

The temperature of this sinking salt water, which was well below freezing point, caused the water to solidify in an icy cover around it.

Where the so-called "brinicle" touched the sea bed, a web of ice formed that froze everything it touched, including sea scamp and starfish.

The unusual phenomenon was filmed for the first time by cameramen Hugh Miller and Doug Anderson for the BBC One series Frozen Planet.
