Its way early to say something about the features of Microsoft’s new edition of Windows i.e. Windows 8; as it is scheduled to be released in 2012 but the latest post on Microsoft’s blog shows a significantly improved boot time in the next iteration of the Windows Operating System.

It sounds really fresh to see that Microsoft is dedicating to minimize long boot times, which is one of the most infuriating aspects of computing for many users.

Very soon just about 8 seconds you will need from the moment the machine is turned on until it’s fully booted, which would really be a huge progress over most machines running earlier versions of Windows today.

Pakistan Through to Final After a Drawn Match Against India -- Will India make it ... conditions apply?

ORDOS, China (Sept. 09) - Pakistan sailed into the final of First Men’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2011 after securing a draw with arch-rival India on Friday here at Ordos, China.

Even the first half of the match ended goalless but arch-rivals exhibited forceful show off with the very first moment of the match which was later drawn at 2-2.

Waqas Sharif scored first goal for Pakistan in the 42nd minute of the second half; while Mohammad Irfan doubled the lead on a penalty corner. Then India fought back strongly and scored two back to back goals to tie the match. However, Pakistan qualified for the final on the basis of better points.

Men's Hockey Champions Trophy 2011: Pakistan to take on arch-rival India today
Pakistan is to take on unbeaten India today (Friday, Sept 09) on the final stages of very first edition of Men’s Asian Hockey Champion Trophy 2011. Keeping in view the current points table situation; the match between arch-rivals will be like a virtual semi-final as the winner will qualify for the final of the tournament.
Currently Pakistan is placed on top of the table with nine points followed by India with eight. Japan are placed third with seven points and Korea are positioned fourth with six points which gives all four teams a probability of qualifying for the final.

Lahore Jail Inmate Zohaib Butt Married His Childhood Girlfriend Saima in District Court (Video Report)

LAHORE, Pakistan (Sept. 08) – According to reports by a private news channel Express 24/7; a prisoner in the Lahore jail married his childhood girlfriend in the district court on Thursday.

Zohaib Butt was reportedly arrested in a police encounter in Lahore in 2005 and got sentenced life imprisonment in 2007. A review petition has been filed in Supreme Court by Zohaib Butt, who got married with his childhood love Saima.

Butt’s lawyer told the media that the judicial magistrate Sohail Riaz had allowed Zohaib to get married in court.

FC Colonel and Wife of DIG Among 28 Killed in Quetta Suicide Blasts

QUETTA, Pakistan (Sept. 08) – A Frontier Corps (FC) Colonel and wife of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) are among the 28 killed in twin suicide blast outside official residence of the DIG on Wednesday (Sept. 07).

There were 13 security personnel and 15 civilians among the dead while 82 wounded in suicide blasts included the DIG, Brigadier Farrukh Shahzad, and 16 FC personnel. Brig Shahzad’s condition is reported stable as per hospital sources.

The suicide attack, in which Brig Farrukh Shahzad was an apparent target, took place in a high-security neighbourhood which has several government offices and residences of senior officials, including the Governor’s House, Chief Minister’s House, residences of IG Police and chief secretary just about 500 metres from the bombing area.

An unidentified man claiming to be a spokesman for Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the bombings in telephone calls made to journalists.

Breaking News: Indian Capital New Delhi Jolted by 6.6-magnitude Earthquake

NEW DELHI, India (Sept. 07) – Breaking News: New Delhi, rocked by a strong earthquake of 6.6 magnitude on Wednesday night.



New Delhi Jolted by 6.6-magnitude Earthquake
The tremors were felt for at least 5-6 seconds which shook the building across the city and people came out from homes with fear.

The earthquake jolted the capital of India at about 11:28 pm IST on Wednesday (Sept. 07).

There are no immediate reports of damages or injuries available.
