Earthquake Updates (April 26, 2011) - - 5.7-magnitude Tremor Struck off Mexico's Western Coast: USGS Reported

MEXICO CITY – According to U.S. Geological Survey (USGS); an earthquake of 5.7-magnitude struck Mexico's western coast on Tuesday, 16 miles (26 km) northwest of San Marcos in Guerrero. 

The quake was struck at 11:07 GMT, was 12.8 miles (20 km) deep, the USGS further reported.

No immediate reports of damage are available although it was felt in the resort city of Acapulco about 40 miles (64 km) west of San Marcos. 

An official at Acapulco fire station told that the quake was strong enough to terrify people; but they had just one emergency call of gas leakage and nothing more.
