Investigators believe that this is not a mere runaway case, and teenager is considered as a missing person who disappeared under "suspicious circumstances".
The 18-year-old Jamisha Gilbert was last seen by her friends early Friday morning, but her family reported that last time they saw her on Wednesday. Gilbert graduated from Heritage High School in 2013. She lived with her family.
Gilbert’s 2002 burgundy Honda Accord was found wrecked in the area of Concord Turnpike and Winston Ridge Road around 8 a.m. Friday morning. Police believe Gilbert was driving this car.
“The side-view mirror was off, and some other parts of the car,” mother Gilbert-Eldridge said. “The headlight was off and the railing where she had hit—it had a lot of the paint from the car.”
Authorities have set up a 24/7 hotline, 434-455-4090, to take the information about Jamisha Gilbert.
