Amazing VIDEO: Google Doodle Zipper working for Gideon Sundback's 132nd Birthday

Search engine giant Google has celebrated the 132nd birthday of Swedish inventor in a totally unique way on April 24. Google 'zipped' its homepage to remember Gideon Sundback, the inventor of the modern metal zipper. To play and enjoy Google’s doodle you need just a click, and the page unzips to reveal a search results page on the Swedish-born engineer.

Born on April 24, 1880, Sundback migrated to United States from Sweden in 1905. There he worked at the Universal Fastener Company in New Jersey, and went on to become its head designer in 1909. (Via Wikipedia)

If you are a Firefox user, you might not be allowed to play with the new, interactive zipper Google doodle. This is because the new zipper Google doodle does not seem to be fully compatible with the Firefox browser.

We checked the same issue on other browsers including Google's own Chrome, Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Apple's Safari, and it seemed to work fine on them. Google is believed to use advanced JavaScript and HTML5 elements for many of its fun and interactive doodles, but some of the code isn't always compatible on all modern Web browsers.

Google has been pushing its Chrome Web browser in a big way, including advertisements in the mainstream media and outdoor hoardings. Advertising approaches that we do not usually associate with Google. Chrome is now the most serious contender to Internet Explorer in the battle of the browsers.

Project Simoom: Sweden building arms factory in Saudi Arabia -- Svergies Radio Reports

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (Tue, Mar. 06) – According to the top covert files that have recently been made public; the Swedish Defence Research Agency (Totalförsvarets forskningsinstitut, FOI) has been assisting Saudi Arabia in building an advanced arms factory.

The confidential papers received by Svergies Radio revealed that the said project was started in 2007 and contains plans to build 35 buildings.

Svergies Radio further claimed that the Swedish government had knowledge of the project, code named as ‘Simoom’. FOI head Jan-Olof Linde, however, denied the report, and stated repeatedly that such a plan does not exist.

“Today we have no ongoing projects with that country, so I have no comments because we don’t have any project,” Linde said to Svergies Radio.

When asked deeper questions, Linde remained halt.

“The answer is no. Really! Don’t you hear what I’m saying,” he told representative of Svergies Radio.

Jan Erik Lövgren of the Swedish Agency for Non-Proliferation and Export Controls (ISP), stated however that the FOI still has plans involving Saudi Arabia.

“I understand that there is some form of dialogue with the Saudis,” he said.

The radio station claimed that the secret government documents stated that the project “pushes the boundaries of what is possible for a Swedish agency," according to SR.

Saudi Arabia is regarded as one of the world's strictest dictatorships by a number of human rights organizations. Nevertheless, Sweden still has a military cooperation with the country.

It has been reported on Monday (Dec. 19) that the Swedish Parliament has just approved new legislation which will legalize and regulate the country’s thriving cannabis trade.

The story-cum-news appeared on an Italian website ‘justpaste.it’ indicating that Sweden had bravely forged ahead of its Scandinavian neighbors and legalized cannabis – a source plant of psychoactive chemicals like hashish and hash oil. The news report, referring to Jonas Grönhög on behalf of Health and Social Services of Sweden, said:

“We don't want to make the same mistakes which the USA has done, we do not want to be prohibitionists because the war on drugs has been lost long ago. It is better to prevent marginalization of young people than jail them for soft drugs usage which are comparatively harmless. If we allow the sale of alcohol, there is no reason to ban the soft drugs no longer.”

Cannabis products are going to be available in the pharmacies in Sweden as non-prescription medicine since April 20 in 2012 and customers more than 18-year-old can buy 10 grams at once, the report mentioned further.

However, the story, mentioned its source “420 Dagbladet, Stockholm, December 19, 2011,” can’t not be confirmed anywhere else and apparently have no reality.

Julian Assange's Mother Wrote Letter to Australian FM Demanding to Stop Her Son Being Expelled to Sweden

BRISBANE - Christine Assange, mother of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, reportedly written and delivered by hand an eight-page note to Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd's Brisbane electorate office, in which it requested government to take needed action to stop her son from being expelled to Sweden or put on trial in the US.

She advocated FM to make sure that Sweden stops the progress of the extradition lawsuit, which is currently being prosecuted in London, against her son over sexual attack charges. 

Ms Assange further demanded the Kevin Rudd to ask the US government to end stirring aggression against her son, Julian Assange, and to act against those who are intimidating him.

Even though she commended Foreign Minister for supporting her son verbally, Ms Assange maintained that the words and action are quite contradicting in the case of her son, Julian Assange.

WikiLeaks' Founder Julian Assange Appeared Before Belmarsh Magistrates' Court in London

London, Feb. 7, Monday – WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange dressed in a blue suit, appeared before Belmarsh Magistrates' Court in London to face the case of expulsion to Sweden over sex crimes charges of from two women he came across in Stockholm last year. 

Assange’s lawyers, including Mark Stephens, are likely to comment that their client should not be exiled to Sweden because he has not yet been charged with any crimes and also that Sweden is expected to transfer him to the U.S. once he would be exiled to Sweden, and because the Swedish prosecutor's case is blemished. 

WikiLeaks has revealed hundreds of top secret issues of the government recently, and sets to disclose hundreds of thousands more in the stock.

U.S. officials are running on a case against Assange and WikiLeaks, and his defence team argues the Swedish sex charges are just a wing of the Americans' long arm. 

Stewart A. Baker, a former official with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, said the Swedes would like to have Assange on their own soil for questioning.
