VIDEO: 42 Alien Planets Found -- Reality or Hoax..?

Forty two (42) alien planets have been discovered by a team of amateur astronomers, according to a new report out by Space.com, and the discovery also includes a Jupiter-size world that could potentially be habitable, by going through data collected by the NASA Kepler spacecraft.

According to details; 40 volunteers with the crowd-sourcing Planet Hunters project found the new planet candidates, including 15 planets which might probably have the signs of life and PH2 b, a huge planet compared to the size of Jupiter that the team confirmed to be in the habitable zone of its parent star.

The group of amateur researchers is now awaiting confirmation from professional astronomers, according to a Live Science report on Friday, January 11, 2013.

Chris Lintott, an English astrophysicist at the Department of Physics in Oxford University and works atZooniverse, explained that “These are planet candidates that slipped through the net, being missed by professional astronomers and rescued by volunteers in front of their web browsers. It’s remarkable to think that absolutely anyone can discover a planet.”

Welcome Home, Baby: Says delighted Elon Musk after Dragon splashes back into Pacific

HAWTHRONE, CA (Thu, May 31) - THE SpaceX Dragon craft has returned to Earth, ending its revolutionary voyage to the International Space Station (ISS).

Welcome Home, Baby: Says delighted Elon Musk after Dragon splashes back into Pacific
"Welcome home, baby," said SpaceX's elated chief, Elon Musk, on Thursday after the Dragon capsule has parachuted into the Pacific Ocean that ended up a successful mission of ferrying the first private delivery to the International Space Station (ISS) and pioneers NASA's new approach to space exploration.

The unmanned capsule parachuted into the Pacific approximately 805 km off Mexico's Baja California, bringing back more than a half-ton of old station equipment. It was the first time since the space shuttles stopped flying last summer that NASA got back a big load from the orbiting lab.

Splashdown came at 8:42 a.m. (11:42 a.m. ET), about two minutes earlier than expected, SpaceX and NASA reported. Musk was on hand at the company’s mission control center near Los Angeles as operators monitored the descent, and called the mission a “grand slam” in a briefing later Thursday.

Space Race Becomes New Money-making Market after Success of SpaceX

SpaceX Falcon 9 blasted off to International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday; but it has left behind a commercial space race among the top tech companies in United States.

Space Race Becomes New Money-making Market after Success of SpaceX
The reusable space cargo capsule ‘Dragon’ was lifted off atop Falcon 9 rocket is expected to reach near the space station for tests early Thursday and ultimately will dock on Friday with its load of supplies. Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (popularly known as SpaceX), run by Elon Musk (co-founder of PayPal and Tesla Motors) was hired by NASA to deliver cargo in the first hand, then eventually astronauts to the orbital outpost.

NASA didn’t content with SpaceX rather the space agency is hiring others, too.
With an aim to make money in commercial space race as much as eight U.S. companies have started their bid even more aggressively after SapceX’s successful launch of its rockets early this week. Most of the companies, planning to jump in the new market, think that they can make even more money than major U.S. airlines in operations.

Private space exploration companies have planned for years about carrying supplies and human for NASA, but this is the first time one is actually in orbit and about to make a delivery for the space agency.

Young female student brings honor to Egypt -- Aisha Mustafa developed new spacecraft propulsion system

I wonder if NASA have ever think about the method of driving spacecrafts and satellites through space using something else other than ordinary rocket engines; but a 19-year-old student from Egypt has actually made it possible.

Young female student brings honor to Egypt -- Aisha Mustafa developed new spacecraft propulsion system
Aisha Mustafa, a university student of Physics, has patented her invention - with Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT). Her invented method is a new type of propulsion system for spacecraft that uses cutting edge quantum physics instead of rockets and thrusters.

The Mail Online has described the achievement of Aisha Mustafa as ‘the invention 'leapfrogs' NASA research, and uses a hi-tech quantum effect to drive satellites through space, rather than ordinary rocket engines.’

Mustafa invented a way of tapping this quantum effect via what's known as the dynamic Casimir-Polder Effect. This uses a "moving mirror" cavity, where two very reflective very flat plates are held close together, and then moved slightly to interact with the quantum particle sea.

It might sound horribly technical, so in simple words Mustafa’s propelling device is based upon a scientific mix between quantum physics, space technology, chemical reactions and electrical sciences.

Mustafa's drive isn't exactly Warp Factor Ten material, but it provides enough energy for satellites to maneuver easily through space. Instead of using nuclear reactors or jets, Mustafa's satellites could generate drive using the panels.

The 19-year-old says she aims to test her invention in future space missions.

Live Broadcast/Webcast: SpaceX Falcon 9 ready for second launch attempt on Tuesday

Cape Canaveral, Florida (Tue, May 22) – SpaceX is set to go for their second attempt within a week time on the wee hours of Tuesday at sending the first private spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) after the initial launch over the weekend was aborted just few moments before blast off.

Live Broadcast: SpaceX Falcon 9 ready for second launch attempt on Monday
The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket - carrying cargo capsule dubbed as ‘Dragon’ filled with food, supplies and science experiments - is scheduled to liftoff at 3:44 a.m. Eastern Time from NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

Earlier on Saturday (May 19); the countdown reached all the way to practically zero and the engine ignition sequence started Saturday, but there was an automatic shutdown by on-board computers which led to abort the liftoff subsequently. (Read full report here)

In a statement on Monday SpaceX revealed that the first attempt to launch Falcon 9 was aborted when a flight computer detected “high pressure in the engine 5 combustion chamber.”

The statement pointed out that during thorough check up of the engine, SpaceX engineers found a defective check valve on the Merlin engine. The faulty valve was replaced on Saturday, and after careful analysis, the vehicle had got clearance for launch."

The mission is designed to establish whether SpaceX can deliver cargo to the ISS. The company is one of the few private companies getting funds from NASA with the aim to deliver cargo into orbit.
