Libyan Rebel Forces Fighting Just Few Miles Away From Tripoli (Latest Video Report)

TRIPOLI, Libya – The Libyan rebels, after getting extensive gains in taking cities around Tripoli in recent weeks, were pushing forward Sunday toward the capital.

According to details; intense fighting and NATO bombing was reported overnight in the Libyan capital, even as rebels fighting the forces of embattled Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi pushed closer to Tripoli Sunday and now say they are only 20 miles away.

Libyan rebels, after declaring they had total control of Zawiyah Saturday as a result of week-long brutal battle for the strategic city, on Sunday fought into the town of Jaddayim, the first city on the road to Tripoli from Zawiyah and only 25 miles to the east of the capital. 

The BBC reports that the rebels took the city Sunday, and there are now hundreds of rebel fighters in the town on foot and in trucks. The Associated Press reports that the rebels were coming under heavy fire from pro-Gaddafi forces in the town.

The rebel forces picked up the momentum to control Tripoli after more senior aides to Col. Muammar Gaddafi apparently have defected and with the recent reports it is visible that Gaddafi’s days appear numbered. But Gaddafi’s forces are fighting back violently, and it is uncertain how long the battle for the capital will last.

KARACHI – At least three police cops were killed and 30 other injured late on Friday when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a police van, triggering intense cross-firing, official sources declared.

The police commandos, in civil clothes, were targeted in the eastern neighbourhood of Korangi, which has been unaffected from the political and ethnically linked violence that has surged through the city.

Latest wave of gang and political violence has claimed at least 65 lives in past three days in Karachi, one of the biggest city and commercial hub of Pakistan. Government is yet to respond the demand from business groups to deploy the army in the city.

Television footage showed the commandos being carried into vehicles heading to hospital.

“There is law in Karachi but there is no order,” said Khalid Tawab, vice president of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry. “Everything is going from bad to worse. The police have failed to restore peace, and now we need the army to come in.” All the main business and trade associations have made similar demands. 

Pakistan’s government is facing increased pressure from business groups to deploy the army in the commercial hub of Karachi after at least 65 people were killed in a surge of gang and political violence over the past three days.

Flt Lt Jon Egging , 33, also known as Red 4 by his teammates from Rutland was killed in aircraft crash during Bournemouth Air Festival on August 20, 2011.

Jon Egging flew Red 4 part of the ‘front section’ of the display group known as ‘Enid’. The exact cause of the crash is still a mystery while it is established that the lionhearted Jon Egging couldn’t eject from the crashing aircraft in time because he wanted to try to keep the plane away from populated areas. He succeeded, but sadly was killed in the crash.

 The pilot of the crashed plane, Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging from Rutland, was killed when his Hawk T1 aircraft - Red 4 - crashed about 1km south east of Bournemouth Airport at 13:50 BST, the UK Ministry of Defence has already confirmed. 

The 33-year-old Jon Egging flew Red 4 part of the ‘front section’ of the display group known as ‘Enid’. Jon Egging was based at the RAF’s Cottesmore base, flying the Harrier GR9. He reportedly has served in Afghanistan, providing support and cover for ground forces. He was married to Emma and, like all Red Arrows pilots, was with the display team since three years.

The exact cause of the crash is still a mystery while it is established that the lionhearted Jon Egging couldn’t eject from the crashing aircraft in time because he wanted to try to keep the plane away from populated areas. He succeeded, but sadly was killed in the crash.

It was the first fatality for the Red Arrows since a 1971 crash in which four pilots died in a mid-air collision.

Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging, the former Southampton University student, who had supported troops in Afghanistan, was married to Emma and lived in Rutland. 

Jon Egging, grown up in Warwickshire, was motivated by his airline pilot father from his very early age and became a part of his local 2028 Southam Sqn Air Training Corps at 13. While at Southam School, in Warwickshire, he was awarded a Royal Air Force’s Flying Scholarship. 

Jon Egging’s first solo flight was in a Cessna 152 from Wellesbourne Mountford Aerodrome. He then took a gap year, working in the UK and travelling around Australia. 

Later, as a member of Southampton University’s Air Squadron received an RAF Bursary to support his Environmental Studies degree. He completed his Elementary Flying Training on a Bulldog and entered the RAF in 2000. 

He was picked for fast jet training, flying the Tucano and Hawk, before becoming a Qualified Flying Instructor.

Hawk Aircraft of Red Arrows Team Crashed During Bournemouth Air Festival in UK

BOURNEMOUTH, UK - During a routine performance at the Bournemouth Air Festival; one of the BAE Systems Hawk aircraft has crashed.

According to details; the Hawk aircraft was belonged to Royal Air Force's Red Arrows aerobatic display team. In a Red Arrows aerobatic display normally nine Hawks are usually used. It is uncertain which of the aircraft was actually crashed, while an unofficial report hinted that the incident involved Red 4.

There’s no such information available about the pilot of the crashed plane. 

As per statement issued by UK defence ministry; they could only confirm the happening of incident in which an aircraft of Red Arrows was downed and they were investigating further. 

Video footage have been taken of the accident apparently shows the formation splitting with three aircraft flaking to the right, one of which then appears to lose altitude.
