Civil registry documents confirm she was born on February 2, 1885. Her government-issued identification card certifies that she has lived at the same address for over 100 years.
On her 127th birthday, she was surrounded by friends and family on a small farm in Ceiba Hueca, in the Granma Province - approximately 900 kilometers (559 miles) south of Havana.
Children from a nearby rural school also came to join in the festivities by singing a traditional Cuban birthday song and sharing cake with the neighborhood centenarian.
