Utah Family Survive Plane's Crash Landing -- Video by Jonathan Fielding Now Trending

WELLSVILLE, Utah (Fri, Feb 15) – Utah family survives miraculously a crash landing which might easily be turned into the most tragic incident of their life. Seven-month-old baby boy is also among the survivors.

Utah Family Survive Plane's Crash Landing -- Video by Jonathan Fielding Now Trending

The most interesting thing about this accident was that the crash landing was filmed by the cellphone from inside the plane and the video was uploaded on Youtube and currently it is trending on Youtube.

The 28-year-old Jonathan Fielding was capturing video of his flight’s emergency landing in the snowy Utah countryside with his cellphone while he and his family were seated passengers. It’s not clear when the aborted flight occurred, but Fielding posted the video on YouTube Feb. 6.

Jonathan was taking his wife Kara out for a birthday flight with their 7-month-old son Jacob and Kara’s mother, when the pilot told them there was ice on the plane’s carburetor.

The pilot was experienced in field landings but unfortunately the snow caused the landing gear to sever from the plane, flipping the plane front to back and smashing the tail before it came to a rest upside down. No one was hurt in the accident save for bruises, whiplash and minor cuts.

In a shaken yet somewhat confident tone, Jonathan Fielding told the camera, “This is kind of exciting. I’m not worried. I think we’re going to be just fine.”

Fugitive cop's death not confirmed: LA Mayor (Watch video of last shootout)

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (Wed, Feb 13) – Last night, after hours of standoff with police, the human remains believed to belong to fugitive ex-LAPD cop Christopher Dorner were recovered from a burned cabin.

Fugitive cop's death not confirmed: LA Mayor

Joint task force of law enforcement agencies stayed on mountain peaks for days, using everything from bloodhounds to high-tech helicopters, to find out Chris Dorner hideout while he holed up in a vacation cabin across the street from their command post.

The extensive manhunt concluded Tuesday when a man believed to be fugitive cop mounted a last stand in a furious shootout in which he killed one sheriff’s deputy and injured another before the cabin erupted in flames.

There was no immediate confirmation about the death of Dorner but hours later a charred body was discovered in the basement of the burned cabin along with a wallet and personal items, including a California driver’s license with the name Christopher Dorner, an official briefed on the investigation told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities including Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said the man who had barricaded himself inside the cabin was almost certainly Dorner.
"Almost everybody believes it is him, but at this point we're not absolutely sure," Villaraigosa told CNN.
"There's a sigh of relief," Villaraigosa said. He cautioned, however, that it could be "days, maybe even weeks" before there is final confirmation that Dorner was dead.
Watch below the raw video of last moments of shootout between Chris Dorner and LAPD cops:

VIDEO: Dozens killed in fireworks explosion on Chinese Highway

BEIJING, China (Fri, Feb 01) – Reported by madn3wz

Dozens killed in fireworks explosion on Chinese Highway

At least 26 were reported killed in China early in the morning on Friday when a truck loaded by fireworks was exploded and destroyed part of an elevated highway in central province, causing vehicles plunging about 30 meters to the ground.

China National Radio had put the number of dead at 26 but the report appeared to have been removed from websites.

According to details; the truck was carrying fireworks ahead of Chinese New Year celebrations when a huge blast not only destroyed the truck but an 80-metre stretch of highway outside the city of Sanmenxia in Henan province. The official Xinhua News Agency said at least 25 vehicles were smashed and buried in the collapse.

If the details of the cause of tragedy are believed to be correct, then the incident hints yet again towards badly constructed bridges and an abundance of badly regulated fireworks.

In the same kind of tragedy about two weeks back, a firework explosion destroyed a two-storey home in Hebei Province killing three people and injuring eleven.

MUMBAI, India (Sun, Nov. 18) – Reported by madn3wz

Bal Thackeray Funeral -- Uddhav Thackeray Lit the Pyre

Shiv Sena supremo  Bal Thackeray’s final rites have been offered at Shivaji Park, where he launched the Shiv Sena forty six years ago at a colossal gathering on Dussehra. More than 200,000 people, including several big names, have gathered at the extensive ground as Mr Thackeray was consigned to the flames.
Lakhs of Shiv Sainiks and supporters break down as son Uddhav Thackeray lit the pyre.
At 9:00 AM in the morning Thackeray's body was brought out of his house in suburban Bandra, wrapped in the tricolor, for funeral procession. His son, Uddhav, broke down just before the funeral procession started. A glass box carrying the 86-year-old Sena patriarch's body was then loaded onto a flower bedecked truck.
The Shiv Sena has taken permission to perform his last rites at the park at 6 pm; he will also be given full state honours. This is the first funeral to be held at Shivaji Park; the ground had special significance for Bal Thackeray, who launched his political party here in 1966. It was the venue for many of his rallies over the years, including his last public address on Dussehra this year, when he spoke to the crowd through a recorded video message.
The Shiv Sena chief died on Saturday afternoon, after a prolonged illness at the age of 86. Thackeray, who was critically ill since last Wednesday, was declared dead by Dr Jaleel Parkar who was treating him. The Sena chief had been suffering from respiratory problems and pancreatic disease.

VIDEO: Massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Canada, prompted tsunami warning for Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii (Sun, Oct 20) – Reported by madn3wz

Massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Canada, prompted tsunami warning for Hawaii

The U.S. state of Hawaii is on high alert after tsunami warnings prompted by massive earthquake struck off western Canada on Saturday evening. Authorities have ordered for the evacuation of at least 100,000 people on the island state to move to higher ground.

The 7.7-magnitude earthquake rocked the Queen Charlotte Islands off the west coast of Canada, with no immediate reports of damages.

Earlier, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center warned a tsunami was heading towards Hawaii, while the Hawaii-based center warned the first tsunami wave was expected to arrive in the Pacific island state at 10.28pm local time on Saturday (7.28pm AEDT Sunday).

"Basically this tsunami is pointed right at us," Gerard Fryer, senior geophysicist at the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, told CNN International. "It's not just one wave, it's a succession of waves... We are recommending coastal evacuation."

The PT WC said the first tsunami wave was three feet high and less forceful than expected. Some forecasts had predicted a wave of up to six feet high.

‘The tsunami arrived about when we expected it should,’ Senior Geophysicist Gerard Fryer told reporters at a news conference, saying: ‘I was expecting it to be a little bigger.’

The tsunami warnings followed a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 that hit Canada’s Pacific coastal province of British Columbia late on Saturday.

The US Geological Survey said the quake was centered 123 miles (198 km) south-southwest of Prince Rupert at a depth of 6.2 miles (10 km).

Video and Photos: Mammoth carcass found in Siberia by 11-year-old Zhenya Salinder

MOSCOW, Russia (Sat, Oct. 06) – Reported by madn3wz

Mammoth carcass found in Siberia by 11-year-old Zhenya Salinde

A well-preserved carcass of a teenage mammoth has been discovered in the permafrost in northern Siberia truly accidentally when an eleven-year-old boy was just wandering in the area with his dog.

According to details; the 11-year-old Zhenya Salinder found the sixteen-year-old mammoth - in Sopochnaya Karga, 3,500km (2,200 miles) northeast of Moscow - which is 2-meter tall and weighs about 500kgs, in late September when he spotted its limbs sticking out of the frozen mud.

Mammoth carcass found in Siberia by 11-year-old Zhenya Salinde

Professor Alexei Tikhonov of the Zoology Institute in St. Petersburg said on Friday while announcing the discovery:

"A teenage mammoth (named as Jenya by the scientists) who once roamed the Siberian tundra in search of fodder and females might have been killed by an Ice Age man on a summer day tens of thousands of years ago".

Tikhonov told the AP news agency that Jenya was "pretty small for his age, But what killed Jenya was not his size but a missing left tusk that made him unfit for fights with other mammoths or human hunters who were settling the Siberian marshes and swamps some 20,000-30,000 years ago".

The splits on Jenya's remaining tusk show a "possible human touch," he added.

Up to 13 feet in height and 10 tons in weight, mammoths migrated across huge areas between Great Britain and North America and were driven to extinction by humans and the changing climate.

Wooly mammoths are thought to have died out around 10,000 years ago, although scientists think small groups of them lived longer in Alaska and on Russia’s Wrangel Island off the Siberian coast.

Earlier this year, a very well preserved juvenile mammoth nicknamed Yuka was unveiled by scientists, according to BBC News

Found in the Yakutia region of Russia, it preserves much of its soft tissue and strawberry-blonde coat of hair. There were also signs from its remains that humans may have stolen the carcass from lions and perhaps even stashed it for eating at a later date.

CLARENDON, Texas (Thu, Oct 04) - A Texas-based gay couple fearing their lives in danger after they found a death threat spray-painted on their front porch when they got up on Monday (October 01).

Clarendon Gay Couple Fear for Their Lives after 'Leave or Die Fags' Message
Joshua Harrison and Jeremy Jeffers, a gay couple in Clarendon, a town of about 2,000 people in the Texas panhandle, say they woke up to find a message reading "Leave or Die Fags" painted on their front porch.

The couple, who have been together for about a year, said they noticed a change in town attitude toward them after an inflammatory ad about the "homosexual movement" written by a pastor appeared in the local paper.

"I'm absolutely terrified because if there are people in this town that are willing to go to the lengths to vandalize our house and to scare us, they they might be going the lengths to do physical harm on us," Harrison told local media.

Local officials, including the sheriff, have reportedly said they are treating the threatening graffiti as a hate crime. Donley County sheriff Charles "Butch" Blackburn told media that he does "consider it a hate crime."

The couple says they are now fearing for their lives and are considering moving away.

Latest Youtube Viral Video: "In Descent Proposal"

"The checklist is complete ... and it says the rings may be engaged ... and to initiate the ring engagement procedure," his girlfriend reads. "Will you marry me?" she continues, taking several seconds to realize that the plane wasn't actually about to go down. Luckily for Thompson, his girlfriend was impressed by the stunt and accepted the "In Descent Proposal."

A pilot has come up with a unique idea of proposing to his girlfriend.

It's just unbelievable that Ryan Thompson proposed to his girlfriend, Carly Kennedy, by pretending the plane he was piloting was just getting out of control and might be crashed.

You see, Ryan Thompson tricked Carly Kennedy into thinking the plane was going down and the flight controls weren’t responding so she could read him the instructions on what to do. Those instructions were, of course, altered to reveal his proposal.

Nepal Plane Crash Report (Video): Pilot's error likely cause of tragedy

Kathmandu, Nepal (Sat, Sept. 29) - Reported by madn3wz

Nepalese aviation authorities said Saturday a deadly mistake by a "panic-stricken" pilot likely caused the crash of an Everest-bound plane that killed all 19 trekkers on board, including seven Britons, in Nepal on Friday.

The Dornier aircraft, which was carrying trekkers from the capital Kathmandu to the town of Lukla before they went on an expedition to Mount Everest, went down after catching fire shortly after it took-off from Tribhuvan international airport. The plane crashed on the bank of the Manohara River at 6.18am on Friday in clear weather and witnesses said it was already on fire before it hit the ground.

According to initial investigation report; the right engine of twin-propeller Sita Air plane caught fire after being struck by a large bird causing the aircraft to plummet into the river bank and explode into a huge fireball. Ratish Chandra Suman, an official from Tribhuvan international airport, said the pilot had reported trouble two minutes after take-off and appeared to have been trying to turn back to the airport.

Suresh Acharya - an official aviation ministry -  said: "A plane crash does not occur simply just because its engine was hit by a bird."

"The pilot's failure to maintain the required radius is a likely cause of the accident," said Acharya, adding the plane turned too sharply because it had not gained enough altitude.

Footage of the tragic incident showed the front section of the plane was on fire when it hit the ground, and it appeared the pilot attempted to land the aircraft on open ground beside the river bank.

Tributes have poured in for the group of seven Britons who were among those killed. The father of the youngest of the British victims, Ben Ogden, 27-year-old Oxford University graduate killed along with seven other Britons in a plane crash in Nepal, paid tribute to his spirited son.Andrew Ogden said he wanted the trip to be his big adventure before he knuckled down to some serious words and life with his girlfriend of eight years.

A 5-meter (16.4 feet) high version of Algerian artist Adel Abdessemed's bronze statue Zidane headbutting Marco Materazzi has been erected outside Paris' Centre Pompidou, one of the world's foremost modern art museums.
"This statue goes against the tradition of making statues in honour of certain victories. It is an ode to defeat," exhibition organizer Alain Michaud told Agence France Presse.
Zidane was sent off and never played international football again. France, who won the World Cup in 1998, lost the final to Italy on penalties.
The Zidane's headbutt statue will remain on display until January 7 next year.

Organiser Jacqueline Higginson, aged 34, from Whitburn, said: “Today loads of us ran naked into the sea to raise money for Mind and to celebrate ourselves and our bodies.
“I did a skinny dip last year where we broke the world record, I don’t think there was enough to do it today but there was enough of us for it to be a lot of fun.
