Vaccine Developed for Dengue Fever by Thai Scientists

The world's first dengue hemorrhagic fever vaccine has been produced by Thai scientists.

The Thai researchers are now collaborating with the private sector to further develop the vaccine for its more successful treatment of patients with reduced infections.

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Warned Those Working to Rescue Raymond Davis

PESHAWAR - The recent demand of death sentence for Raymond Davis came from banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). TTP also warned authorities and individuals to get away from working to set US killer free.

Ihsanullah Ihsan, TTP spokesman, talking to the media on telephone stated that Raymond Davis is a US killer and should be treated under the Islamic principles and must be sentenced maximum sentence.

He further warned that those who are trying to rescue Raymond Davis would be on their target, no matter if they are lawyers, judges, policeman, armed forces personnel, politicians or anyone else.

He further said that the Raymond Davis case is one of the big challenges for the TTP.

“We will give tough time to those who are working for US agenda in Raymond Davis case,” he added.


New Zealand Dollar Falls in Asian Markets After Devastating Earthquake

CHRISTCHURCH – In early Asian deals on Tuesday, the New Zealand dollar has to absorb a sharp fall against other main currencies after a deadly earthquake hit the southern city of Christchurch. A slump in Asian stocks on fear over rising political unrest in the Middle East also smashed the New Zealand dollar. 

A trivial earthquake of 6.3-magnitude has hit Christchurch city, one of the major New Zealand cities, causing extensive devastation with numerous fatalities reported soon after the tragedy and the total death toll still undecided.

The earthquake is thought to be an aftershock from the September 2010 earthquake of 7.3-magnitude which struck Christchurch but did not claim any lives as it struck in the middle of the night.

6.3-magnitude Earthquake Jolted Christchurch (New Zealand) Fears Hundreds of Deaths

The earthquake on Tuesday local time smacked around lunchtime, and there are reports that transport buses have been compressed by wreckage falling from building.

There initial reports also pointing towards many people got trapped in the debris of buildings, including Forsyth Barr workers trapped on the 12th floor of a 17 story building where the stairwell has been destroyed.

Rescue operations are in progress. Local hospitals are preparing to receive hundreds of injured people.

Uma Bharti was invited in the marriage ceremony of son of Pritam Singh (her political friend) on Sunday night; where she danced to “Tinku Jiya” a song from the latest Bollywood movie 'Yamla Pagla Deewana'. Reportedly, Uma Bharti is the one who helped Pritam Singh to form a political part named as Bharatiya Janshakti Party (BJSP).

According to eyewitnesses; she danced with full passion along with other guests ‘Baratis’ (wedding guests from groom). 'It was in fact a lovely surprise for all of us as she is never known for enjoying in such a way in any occasion,' said a close aide of the leader.

Seif al-Islam el-Qaddafi, Son of Col. Qaddafi, Warns of Civil War in His Televised Address on Monday

TRIPOLI - With the start of the day six of riots and protests in Libya which spread into the streets of the second largest city of Benghazi; the revolution wave started to take down the capital city of Tripoli first time. 

Seif al-Islam el-Qaddafi, son of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, warned the nation in a televised address about 1:00 a.m. on Monday that their oil-rich country would fall into civil war and even renewed Western “colonization” if they threw off his father’s 40-year-long rule. During his address he reiterated many times that “Libya is not Tunisia or Egypt” — the neighbours to the east and west that both brought down their long-time dictators in the period of just six weeks. 

The uprising trembling Libya is the most recent and the most aggressive twist in the insurgence across the Arab world that was just beyond the imagination only two months ago and now causes the biggest threat in four decades to Colonel Qaddafi’s dictatorial power. The United States criticized the Qaddafi government’s deadly use of force against the demonstrators. 

The riots and uprising has claimed at least 200 lives and left hundreds injured from the open use of ammunition by the security forces.

Ten Police Officers Killed in Suicide Attack on Police Headquarters in Iraq

Baghdad, Iraq – Iraq government officials confirmed the death of ten police officers as a result of suicide attack on federal police headquarters in the city of Samarra. 

The attack took place when a suicide bomber struck his explosive-filled vehicle into the police headquarters in al-Ashaq district of Samarra. The suicide attack left 15 injured other than the reported deaths.

Samara is located in the predominantly Sunni province of Salaheddin, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of Baghdad.
