LAHORE, Pakistan (Jan. 15) – According to media reports; the Namaz-e-Janazah (funeral prayers) of Arfa Karim Randhawa, the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional, was offered in Lahore on Sunday and her body was taken to Faisalabad for the burial.

A large number of people from every walk of life participated in the funeral prayers for 16-year-old Arfa Karim at Cavalry Ground. The Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif was also present along with few other politicians.
Arfa Karim will be buried in her native village, called Ram Dewali, few kilometers on Sargodha Road, Faisalabad.
Arfa Karim lost her battle for life yesterday after being in state of coma in November last year. Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates took special interest in the treatment of Arfa Karim and set up an international panel of doctors for her treatment. The panel frequently kept in contact with Pakistani physicians via teleconference.
The young girl made headlines when she was named the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in 2004 at the age of just 9. She was also invited by Bill Gates to visit Microsoft’s headquarters in the US.
