Negligence by doctors and paramedical staff took life of 15-year-old Neha at Civil Hospital, Karachi

KARACHI, Pakistan (Fri, Apr 13) – A teenage girl died on Thursday due to the negligence of paramedic staff at Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), local media reported.

According to details; the 15-year-old girl Neha, belonged to Shah Faisal Colony, was admitted in hospital on Sunday due to severe kind of fever. On Thursday, ward nurse gave her an injection, allegedly a wrong one or expired one, and the girl died after two hours thereafter. 

The family members of the deceased Neha have blamed the doctors and staff for not providing exact information about Neha’s sickness and treating her with an expired injection which led to her death ultimately. The doctors and paramedic staff escaped from the ward after Neha was pronounced dead.

The heirs of Neha staged a protest against doctors’ negligence in front of the hospital. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah has required a report of the incident from the secretary health. 

No one was available from the hospital administration to comments on this tragic incident.
