KFC Investigations Biased, Media Hiding Facts: Claims Victoria Wilcher’s aunt Teri Rials Bates

JACKSON, Mississippi (Wednesday, June 25) - Reported by madn3wz

Though the incomplete investigations by KFC hinted towards the incident of kicking out a little girl from KFC due to her facial scars was never happened; but KFC pledges to donate $ 30,000 for the family of 3-year-old Victoria Wilcher toward her medical bills.

The family of he 3-year-old Mississippi girl is still sticking with the story gone viral earlier and believe that the KFC investigations are biased and media is trying to hide the fact for some unknown reasons.

The Facebook page administered by Victoria’s aunt, Teri Rials Bates, claims that Victoria's incident was not a hoax and based on the true facts. Facebook page says:

“I promise it's not a hoax. I never thought any of this would blow up the way it has. The article circling the web calling this a hoax is untrue."

Bates' Facebook page says further, "The article itself says the investigation is not complete. It is not over until KFC releases a statement. The media outlet running this story is not connected with KFC. The family has not asked for anything, a attorney is handling all the media publicity for the family pro bono."

In the end Bates requested, "Please do not believe untrue media. I have personally watched this family go without to provide for Victoria. They have not and would not do anything to hurt Victoria in any way."

On the other hand, the two separate investigation reports, one of them by an independent third-party consultant suggest that the whole story was fabricated to attract the attention of masses aiming to raise funds for the treatment of Victoria Wilcher.

The story of Victoria Wilcher, who was disfigured by dog attack, being asked to leave a KFC in Jackson because her appearance was scaring other customers first posted on Facebook by Victoria Wilcher's grandmother - Kelly Mullins - on May 15.

The story gone viral on social media and the family received more than $135,000 as cash donations. KFC also announced to pay $30,000 for the victim's family.

Local media in Mississippi is calling it a fundraising hoax — specifically, a “Kentucky Fried Hoax” by a local Laurel Leader-Call.

"Operation Cross Country" against Sex Trafficking: FBI targets pimps, rescues 168 children

WASHINGTON (Tuesday, June 24) - Reported by madn3wz

In an annual nationwide crackdown dubbed as "Operation Cross Country" 168 children were rescued after the joint operation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI),  state, and local law enforcement agencies, the FBI announced Monday.

FBI Director James Comey Reveals Outcomes of  "Operation Cross Country"

More than 280 pimps were also nabbed during the crackdown carried over in 106 cities. More than two dozen children were rescued and 38 pimps arrested in California alone. The pimps face state and federal charges.

Many of rescued children had never been reported missing, the FBI report revealed.

"These are not faraway kids in faraway lands," FBI Director James Comey said in announcing the annual enforcement push known as Operation Cross Country. Instead, he added, "These are America's children."

FBI's report reveal that the child sex traffickers "use fear and force and treat children as commodities of sex."

“Targeting and harming America’s children through commercial sex trafficking is a heinous crime, with serious consequences,” Comey said further. “Every child deserves to be safe and sound. Through targeted measures like Operation Cross Country, we can end the cycle of victimization.”

It was the 8th annual operation of it's type in which law enforcement agencies along side Feds targeted areas like truck stops, casinos, websites that advertise escort services and even some streets. From there, intelligence is collected and arrests often unfold systematized efforts to prostitute and exploit women and children.

The FBI says nearly 3,600 children have so far been recovered from the streets in such operations over the years the operations have resulted in over 1,450 felony convictions and confiscation of close to $3.1 million in property and cash.

Oscar Pistorius granted freedom to travel by South African court

Johannesburg, South Africa (Thu, Mar 28) – Reported by madn3wz

Oscar Pistorius granted freedom to travel by South African court

Breaking News: Oscar Pistorius has reportedly won his appeal over bail restrictions in connection with traveling aborad and his passport is returned back to him by court.

South African media reported that the appeal of Oscar Pistorius, accused of killing her model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, against his bail conditions is successful and Pistorius cleared to compete internationally by South African court.

It was earlier reported that the lawyers for Oscar Pistorius have appealed against some of his bail restrictions on Thursday, saying the “blade Runner” might ultimately need to return to track competition to earn money. Pistorius’ lawyers argue that he should be permitted to leave the country with written permission.

They also say that forcing him to report regularly to a police station and a ban on him consuming alcohol, among other conditions, are "unwarranted".

According to further details, a South African court’s judge today cleared the athlete for international travel, easing stringent bail conditions imposed on him for killing his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day.

“I find that the magistrate’s decision not to grant the appellant his passport to travel abroad was wrong,” Judge Bert Bam told the High Court in Pretoria.

He will also be allowed to return to his home in Pretoria, where Reeva Steenkamp was shot and killed.
He denies murdering the 29-year-old, saying he mistook her for an intruder.
In the hearing at Pretoria's High Court, Mr Pistorius also sought an end to supervision by a probation officer and compulsory drug and alcohol testing.

Reeva Steenkamp Murder Updates: Funeral on Tuesday, while Police Found Bloodied Bat in Pistorius Home

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (Sun, Feb. 17) – Reported by madn3wz
Reeva Steenkamp Murder Updates: Funeral on Tuesday, while Police Found Bloodied Bat in Pistorius Home

Funeral of murdered South African model Reeva Steenkamp is announced on Tuesday, five days after her mysterious death, after her body returned her hometown of Port Elizabeth, a city on South Africa’s southern coast. The funeral will be a private affair, Reeva’s family said in a statement today.
The South African model was killed on Thursday at the home of her boyfriend, Olympic and Paralympic superstar Oscar Pistorius also dubbed as “Blade Runner”.
The father of Reeva Steenkamp said "there is no hatred in our hearts" over her death, according to the Mail on Sunday. Oscar Pistorius' father said he had acted "on instinct" as his girlfriend was shot, according to the Sunday Telegraph.
Police has found a bloodied bat at Pistorious home and according to South Africa's City Press police are investigating a number of scenarios involving the bat, one of which being that Oscar Pistorius used it as a weapon to viciously beat his former girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, before shooting her to death.
Pistorius was charged with her murder and is expected to make a second court appearance on Tuesday - the same day as the funeral - for the start of his bail hearing. He remains in custody in a police station in Pretoria ahead of that hearing.
The 29-year-old Reeva Steenkamp was seen laughing and smiling on South African television Saturday night after national broadcaster SABC chose to air the first episode of Tropika Island of Treasure, a pre-recorded game show in which she appeared.

Fugitive cop's death not confirmed: LA Mayor (Watch video of last shootout)

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (Wed, Feb 13) – Last night, after hours of standoff with police, the human remains believed to belong to fugitive ex-LAPD cop Christopher Dorner were recovered from a burned cabin.

Fugitive cop's death not confirmed: LA Mayor

Joint task force of law enforcement agencies stayed on mountain peaks for days, using everything from bloodhounds to high-tech helicopters, to find out Chris Dorner hideout while he holed up in a vacation cabin across the street from their command post.

The extensive manhunt concluded Tuesday when a man believed to be fugitive cop mounted a last stand in a furious shootout in which he killed one sheriff’s deputy and injured another before the cabin erupted in flames.

There was no immediate confirmation about the death of Dorner but hours later a charred body was discovered in the basement of the burned cabin along with a wallet and personal items, including a California driver’s license with the name Christopher Dorner, an official briefed on the investigation told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities including Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said the man who had barricaded himself inside the cabin was almost certainly Dorner.
"Almost everybody believes it is him, but at this point we're not absolutely sure," Villaraigosa told CNN.
"There's a sigh of relief," Villaraigosa said. He cautioned, however, that it could be "days, maybe even weeks" before there is final confirmation that Dorner was dead.

WILMINGTON, Del. (Mon, Feb 11) – Reported by madn3wz

Three people were killed Monday morning in a wild gunfire at a courthouse in Wilmington, Delaware, State Police said. The shooter is among the three dead.

Three killed, two police cops injured in Delaware Courthouse shooting

According to details; just after 8 AM in the morning a male shooter entered the lobby of Newcastle County Courthouse and started firing wildly. The gunman allegedly shot and killed his estranged wife before two others became victims of his vivid shooting.

The shooter was killed in cross firing by police officers on duty. Cops also shot by the gunman but luckily suffered non-life-threatening injuries due to their bullet proof vests.

In a press conference an hour ago, police spokesperson Paul Shavack confirmed two women were killed and two security officers were injured in the shooting. The gunman never got through a security checkpoint in the courthouse, so he never had to pass through a metal detector.

Shavack described the shooter as white and between the ages of 50 and 60. Gunman acted alone, and the shooting was not an act of terrorism, he added.
No further details about the victims were revealed by the police.

Chris Dorner Manhunt Updates (Day 4): Reward for Clue Leading to Fugitive Cop's Arrest

San Bernardino, Calif. (Sun, Feb 10) – Authorities are likely to announce a reward on Sunday for any clue leading to the arrest of Christopher Jordan Dorner – ex-LAPD cop accused of killing three people including ex-LAPD chief’s daughter, her boyfriend and a policeman – as the extensive manhunt goes into day four.

Chris Dorner Manhunt Updates (Day 4): Reward for Clue Leading to Fugitive Cop's Arrest

The reward will be offered a week after the 33-year-old Dorner’s alleged killing spree started on last weekend.

Earlier, Police Chief Charlie Beck announced to reopen the investigations about the allegations that led to firing of Chris Dorner in 2008, believed to be due to racism in LAPD.

Beck stressed that he was ordering a review of his 2007 case because he takes the allegation of racism in his department seriously.
"I do this not to appease a murderer. I do it to reassure the public that their police department is transparent and fair in all the things we do," the chief said in a statement.
Law enforcement agencies are extensively engaged in the manhunt of Dorner who is believed to be hidden in the wilderness of California’s snow-capped San Bernardino Mountains 80 miles east of Los Angeles.
According to latest news; searching teams have plans to use drones to help digging out the fugitive ex-cop, making him the first human target for remotely-controlled airborne drones on US soil.
A senior police source said: “The thermal imaging cameras the drones use may be our only hope of finding him. On the ground, it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.”
When asked if the drones are already in use by the police; Riverside Police Chief Sergio Diaz, who is jointly leading the task force, told that they were already using all the tools at their disposal.

NEW ORLEANS (Sun, Feb 10) – At least four people were reported injured as a result of wild gunfire following apparently verbal arguments turned into violent reaction involving some people on a New Orleans’ famed Bourbon Street ahead of Mardi Gras celebrations, as per  Washington Post.

Police: 4 wounded in shooting on Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras

The details of the incident revealed by police after reviewing footage caught by a bystander show that four shots rang out rapidly Saturday night followed by screams. Authorities said an argument involving some of those in the crowd led up to the shooting.

Nobody was arrested immediately while police were seeking public’s help to find three men who escaped from the spot allegedly involved in pre-shooting heated conversation.

Police spokesman Frank B. Robertson says the shooting in the crowded French Quarter just days before Fat Tuesday left four people wounded, including a male victim shot in the abdomen, thigh and pelvic area. He says two other male victims also were wounded and one female.

New Orleans has been plagued for years by violent crime, including gun violence that has soared since Hurricane Katrina devastated the city in 2005, reported Washington Post.

Christopher Dorner Hunt: Two elderly women were shot mistakenly by LAPD cops

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Fri, Feb 08) – LAPD cops shot two elderly women in Torrance, California suspecting them as fugitive LAPD ex-cop, Christopher Dorner, who is at large after killing three of his ex colleagues.

Christopher Dorner Hunt: Two elderly women were shot mistakenly by LAPD cops

According to Los Angeles Times; the women; Emma Hernandez, 71, and her 47-year-old daughter Maggie Carranza were in the area for delivering the newspaper. Sources told the LA Times cops were trying to protect an LAPD officer named in former cop Christopher Dorner's online manifesto when they shot them in a suspicious.

Unfortunately, the women were driving the same type and colored car in which Dorner had run away after his shooting spree on Thursday.
Cops in the search of Dorner suspected the royal blue Toyota Tacoma occupied by Emma and her daughter Maggie is the same as of Dorner's Nissan pickup truck and opened fire without confirming who’s inside the vehicle.
"Tragically, we believe this is a case of mistaken identity," LAPD Chief Charlie Beck told reporters.
But the women's lawyer, Glen Jonas, pointed out that cops were being careless just to guard themselves. "The problem with the situation is it looked like the cops were administering street justice and didn't take the time to notice that these two older, small Latina women don't look like a large black man," Jonas told the Times.
Hernandez was shot twice in the back and was stable as of late Thursday, Jonas told the Times. Her daughter just had stitches in her finger.

Mystery Parcel: What was sent by LAPD Cop Killer to CNN's Anderson Cooper?

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Fri, Feb 07) – Officials from Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) are checking a parcel received by CNN's Anderson Cooper from a former Los Angeles police officer who allegedly killed three in a shooting rampage.

Mystery Parcel: What was sent by LAPD Cop Killer to CNN's Anderson Cooper?

During Thursday's "Situation Room," Wolf Blitzer reported that Christopher Dorner also "reached out directly to CNN" earlier and mailed a parcel to Cooper's office. Shimrit Sheetrit, a CNN spokesperson, said Thursday that a parcel containing a note, a DVD and a bullet hole-riddled reminder were sent by Dorner and addressed to Cooper's office.

Dorner, who was fired from the LAPD in 2008 for making false statements, went on a shooting spree on Thursday gunning down three police officers and one of them allegedly dead already. He had previously threatened to harm police officers and their families in an online manifesto.

The parcel contained a hand-labeled DVD with a yellow Post-It note that read, "I never lied," which Blitzer said appeared to be referring to Dorner's 2008 dismissal; a coin wrapped in duct tape, which was inscribed with "Thanks but no thanks, Will Bratton" — the former chief of the Los Angeles police department — and "IMOA" (which commonly stands for "Imagine a More Open America"). The coin, which Blitzer reported is given by as an LAPD souvenir, was shot through with bullet holes.

The CNN host and the network are cooperating with authorities, and have handed over the package and its contents to the LAPD. LAPD Commander Andrew Smith says LAPD robbery-homicide detectives will inspect the package for clues.

India needs serious legislation to protect women from rapists

NEW DELHI, India (Thu, Jan 17) – Reported by madn3wz
India needs serious legislation to protect women from rapists
The numbers of rape cases in India, highlighted by local and foreign media, have been increased intensively since the gang-rape of the 23-year-old medical student from Delhi in December last year.
One wonders how the number of rape cases can increase so abruptly. The fact clearly shows that such incidents were happening with the same frequency but were not spotlighted for any reason like undue influence of rapists or their families, low background of the victims etc.
According to a report published in forcechange.com; thousands of rapes and sexual assaults go unpunished and often unnoticed within India every year and only in Delhi there were 635 rape cases reported last year, yet only one ended in conviction.

Recently, a 17-year-old gang-rape victim from Indian Punjab finished her life after writing a suicide note on a page torn from a notebook that named her alleged attackers and accused them of destroying her life. The suicide of teenage victim once again highlighted the awful state of affairs of India's criminal justice system.

In a very recent case; a 7-year-old student was raped in a school toilet in Goa (yet again in India) by a 23-year-old. The headmistress of the school has been arrested by police for the negligence. The police have also announced a reward of Rs. 50,000 for any information that would lead to his arrest.
But a rational question arises; are these steps enough to stop this vicious rape-culture in India? Every normal person thinks “No, not at all.” The solution requires a proper legislation and introduction of more stiff laws against the crimes like rape and molestation.
According to Hindustan Times; the Maharashtra state government is likely to amend the law to make crimes such as rape and molestation non-bailable, instead of waiting for the Centre to amend it. It also proposes to double jail term for such crimes, from the current seven to 14 years.
Indian legislators, from states to centre, have the responsibility to formulate and implement an effective legislation to stop such heinous crimes and deal the culprits iron handed.

SAN DIEGO (Sat, Jan 13) – Police shot an armed suspect at a local theater during a movie and while the suspect pretending to be a patron. No one else was hurt in the shooting inside the cinema hall in northern San Diego.

Armed suspect Tom Billodeaux in Reading Cinemas Carmel Mountain, San Diego

According to details; the lights unexpectedly came on during a Saturday matinee screening of "Les Miserables" at Reading Cinemas Carmel Mountain and two police cops who had been going theater-to-theater marked their suspect among approximately 15 other moviegoers, most of whom quickly ducked to the floor, when firing started, and started crawling toward exit doors, police and witnesses said.

The 20-year-old suspect, identified as Tom Billodeaux of Escondido, was immediately shifted to hospital from the scene after being shot in the arm and chest, police said.

According to police statement; Billodeaux pretended to obey the cops who approached him and put his empty hands up, but then "lowered them into his lap ... raised a handgun, and turned it toward the officer."

Billodeaux became the target of an extreme police search after witnesses reported seeing him get into a brawl with his girlfriend across the street from a shopping plaza where the theater is located, Lieutenant. Ernie Herbert said.

Billodeaux, who was at a hospital Sunday morning, was expected to survive the shooting and would be booked into county jail on his release, police said.
