Drug Cartel Guzman's Luis Rodriguez Olivera Arrested by Mexican Police

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (Dec. 28) – Mexican authorities have arrested a senior drug trafficker with close links to the country's most wanted man, Sinaloa cartel boss and Mexico’s most wanted man Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who has suffered a series of setbacks in recent past.

Guzman's Luis Rodriguez Olivera Arrested by Mexican Police
According to details; Luis Rodriguez Olivera, known as “El Guero,” captured by Mexican police in the capital city of Mexico. Luis Rodriguez Olivera was responsible for trafficking cocaine into the United States between 1996 and 2008 for Guzmna’s gang and for whom U.S. authorities are offering a reward of up to $5 million.

Rodriguez Olivera and his brothers left the Sinaloa cartel someway in 2005 and later had developed a strong relationship with Guzman's rivals in the Los Zetas cartel, but U.S. and Mexican authorities could not immediately say where the commitment of the 39-year-old Rodriguez Olivera lay at the time of his arrest on Tuesday in Mexico City.

Forbes listed Olivera's former boss, Guzman, as the10th richest man in Mexico in 2011, with a net worth of around $1 billion.

Ron Paul Criticized by Rick Perry and Mitt Romney on Iran's Nuclear Issues

WASHINGTON (Dec. 28) – Ron Paul has been criticized on Wednesday by Mitt Romney and Rick Perry for his lenient approach towards Iran’s nuclear programme after a statement by Texas congressman in which he said that the U.S. has no business bombing Iran to keep it from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

Ron Paul Criticized by Rick Perry and Mitt Romney on Iran's Nuclear Issues
The former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney said in response to a question from audience, “One of the people running for president thinks it's okay for Iran to have a nuclear weapon, I don't.”

Although Rick Perry, the Texas governor, and Mitt Romney didn’t clearly name Ron Paul in their arguments but the target was very much obvious.

Rick Perry in context to Ron Paul’s statement said in Urbandale, “You don't have to vote for a candidate who will allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon to wipe Israel off the face of the earth, because America will be next.”

"I'm here to say: You have a choice," Perry added.

The latest criticism of Paul, the libertarian-leaning Republican, surfaces as surveys hint that he's in contention to win Tuesday's caucuses.

During last few days, conservative rivals including Perry and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann have amplified their disapproval of Paul on social issues, foreign affairs and stirring comments in his decades-old newsletter.

By tearing him down, they hope voters will give their campaigns another, closer look after a season marked by candidates who have risen quickly in public standing only to fall back down.

Parts of Russian satellite fell in Siberia -- House damaged, no reports of fatalities

Moscow, Russia (Dec. 24) – A piece of scrap from a Russian satellite, smacked back to Earth after its failure to launch properly, crashed into a village in Siberia striking a home on a street named after cosmonauts, officials said on Saturday.

Parts of Russian satellite fell in Siberia
According to details; the Meridian communications satellite failed to make it to the orbit Friday due to a malfunction of its Soyuz rocket. The latest incident denting the reputation of Russian space programme which has now lost more than six satellites in 2011.

The parts of the satellite smacked back into the Novosibirsk region of central Siberia and were also found in the Ordynsk district around 100km south of the regional capital Novosibirsk.

Interfax news agency reported citing an official source from the local security services that a 50-cm circular part was recovered which crashed into the roof of a house in the village of Vagaitsevo" in the Ordynsk district. The house was located on Cosmonaut Street, named after the heroic spacemen of the Soviet and Russian space programme, official told further.

The owner of the house, who was at home with his family at the time of fall, will be compensated after the evaluation of damages, the head of the Ordynsk district, Pavel Ivarovksy, told Interfax.

"The owner told me he heard a noise, then a crash, and he went outside and saw the damage," he said. There were no reports of fatalities.

The failure of the Soyuz-2.1B rocket to deliver its payload is a particular worry as it comes from a member of the same family that Russia uses to send multinational manned crews to the International Space Station (ISS).

An unmanned Progress supply ship bound for the ISS crashed into Siberia in August after its launch by a Soyuz, forcing the temporary grounding of the rockets and well as a wholesale re-jig of the station's staffing.

The loss of the Meridian satellite caps a disastrous 12 months for Russia that has already seen it lose three navigation satellites, an advanced military satellite, a telecommunications satellite, a probe for Mars as well as the Progress.

"This again shows that the (Russian space) industry is in crisis," admitted Vladimir Popovkin, the head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, in comments broadcast on state television. "It is deeply unpleasant."

Acknowledging that the jobs of the Roscosmos leadership were at risk, he added: "I think it is possible that the organisational conclusions will be quite severe, right up to including myself."

Intercontinental Bulava Nuclear Missiles Tested Successfully by Russia on Friday (Dec. 23, 2011)

MOSCOW, Russia (Dec. 24) – Two new Bulava intercontinental nuclear missiles have been tested successfully by Russia on Friday (Dec. 23). The missile has reportedly several failed attempts in the past.

Bulava Nuclear Missiles Tested Successfully by Russia
"The launch was carried out from (the submarine in) submerged position in the White Sea," ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov was quoted by state-run RIA news agency as saying. "Its warheads reached the polygon (target) on time."

Due to a member of CTBT (Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty) Russia is not supposed to restrain from any kind of nuclear explosions; therefore, the recent missile test was done with dummy warheads.

Half of the previous attempts have been failed, although the last launch from same submarine in June this year was successful.

A Bulava missile weighs 36.8 tonnes and can travel a distance of 8,000 km (5,000 miles) carrying 6-10 nuclear warheads, which would deliver an impact of up to 100 times the atomic blast that devastated Hiroshima in 1945.

New Jersey Plane Crash Report: Pilot Jefferey Buckalew not completed his final sentence

Destiny didn’t let him to utter the last word of his final conversation with the air control tower and the word was “emergency”.

Jefferey Buckalew with his family - All four killed in NJ plane crash
“Seven three one charlie alpha, declaring an . . .” are the last words of pilot Jeffrey Buckalew’s to air controllers before his turboprop plane crashed into a New Jersey highway.

Buckalew was warned by air traffic controller, moments before the crash, that the plane was just about to enter the area in which weather could leave a dangerous layer of ice on his plane. Pilots of the other planes in the area were also reporting about the ice.

Only Buckalew was in a position to save the plane, which also carried his wife, Corinne, their daughter, Meriwether, their son, Jackson, and the family dog.

Also aboard was Rakesh Chawla, who, like Buckalew, was a managing director at the Greenhill & Co. investment bank. All were Manhattan residents.

Publicly available radar records show Buckalew’s single-engine Socata TBM 700 hit a maximum altitude of 18,000 feet 10 seconds after 10:04 a.m. Tuesday.

It spent the next minute and 15 seconds spiraling in a 3.4-mile nose dive that took it into Route 287 in Harding at about 163 mph.

Witnesses said pieces of the plane, including part of a wing, broke off before it hit the ground. The plane may have come apart under the stress of Buckalew’s efforts to regain control, one expert said.

Buckalew’s plane had anti-icing equipment, but it’s unclear whether it was activated, investigators said. Before the crash, he had told controllers the ice would be “no problem for us.”

His equipment likely included electric heaters in the windscreen and propeller and “boots” on the wings’ leading edges.

The rubber boots are designed so pilots can rapidly inflate them to knock off ice as it piles up.

Buckalew might have set the boots to automatically inflate and deflate every few seconds, said Brian Alexander, a pilot and lawyer with the Manhattan firm Kreindler & Kreindler.

But if the boots are set on automatic, ice can accumulate when they’re inflated — and thus will not fall off when the boots are deflated.

While investigators are focused on the likelihood of an ice buildup, they’re also seeking the plane’s maintenance records and other information about Buckalew. Their probe is expected to take months.

New research found Viagra helpful against heart failure: Professor Wolfgang Linke

FRANKFURT, Germany (Dec. 23) - The impotency drug Viagra has new promises in healthcare field as the scientists have discovered its surprisingly positive effects for the patients with diastolic heart failure by causing too-stiff heart chamber walls to become more elastic.

New research found Viagra helpful against heart failure
According to a latest study published in the journal Circulation, explains how Viagra might benefit patients suffering with diastolic heart failure.

Patients with such condition have unusually stiff ventricles, the heart's major pumping chambers, which do not fill sufficiently with blood. This leads to blood "backing up" in the lungs and causing breathing difficulties.

Scientists discovered that Viagra triggers an enzyme that causes a protein in heart muscle cells to relax. The positive result was observed in dogs with diastolic heart failure within minutes of the drug being administered.

"We have developed a therapy in an animal model that, for the first time, also raises hopes for the successful treatment of patients", said research leader Professor Wolfgang Linke - from the Ruhr Universitat Bochum (RUB) in Germany.

PICTURES: Damascus (Syria) twin suicide blasts killed at least 40, more than 100 injured

DAMASCUS, Syria (Dec. 23) – At least 40 people were killed as a result of twin incidents of suicide bombing on two security service bases in Damascus today (Friday, Dec. 23).

Damascus (Syria) twin suicide blasts killed at least 40
According to details; the first of the two suicide bombers targeted the General Security Directorate when he smashed an explosive-packed vehicle into compound of Syria’s most important security service, in the Kfar Suseh vicinity of capital. The other bomber blew up a vehicle outside a nearby military intelligence building.

State television aired images of a vast dig at one of the bomb sites and pools of blood on nearby roadways. Passersby were seen carrying away burnt and muddled bodies wrapped in temporary covers.

Today’s suicide attacks, which officials blamed on Al-Qaeda, were the first attacks against Syria’s powerful security services in the heart of the capital since the uprising began and overshadowed new protests against President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

Faisal Meqdad, Deputy Foreign Minister, told media persons that there were more than 40 dead and more than 100 injured in the both attacks.

“On the first day after the arrival of the Arab observers, this is the gift we get from the terrorists and Al-Qaeda but we are going to do all we can to facilitate the Arab League mission,” he added.

'Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow' -- A song of 1945 made popular by Google with its new feature

‘Let it Snow’ made popular by Google once again after almost 66 years. Surprised..???

'Let it Snow' Song made popular by Google with its new feature

The Let it snow song originally written by Sammy Cahn and composed by Jule Styne 66 years ago in 1945 perhaps never had so many people around the globe searching for the song at the same time. The Google ‘Let it Snow’ feature have recently gone viral and thousands of people have searched for the “let it snow” search term that will allow you to see the feature.

Google have also added a pre-created “Defrost” button that will allow you to clear your screen once it covered up totally with snow. To clear your screen simply click on the “Blue Defrost Button” on the top right side of your search bar and the ‘Let it Snow’ effect will vanish.

But for your information Google’s ‘Let it Snow’ feature surprisingly is not working on Internet Explorer 9. If you cannot see the “Google Let it Snow feature” you can watch it in Google Chrome or in Firefox. Both the Google Chrome and the Firefox browsers support the Let it Snow feature.

Still if you have only Microsoft's Internet Explorer then don’t worry you’re not gonna miss it. I’m here to share, watch it here below ... Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow .....

Sweden legalizes and regulates cannabis? -- Reality behind the story

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - The news of legalization of cannabis and regulation of its marketing in Sweden makes quick inroads into different social networks. The news spread like a jungle fire around the globe through internet and generates mixed kind of reaction.

Sweden legalizes and regulates cannabis?
It has been reported on Monday (Dec. 19) that the Swedish Parliament has just approved new legislation which will legalize and regulate the country’s thriving cannabis trade.

The story-cum-news appeared on an Italian website ‘justpaste.it’ indicating that Sweden had bravely forged ahead of its Scandinavian neighbors and legalized cannabis – a source plant of psychoactive chemicals like hashish and hash oil. The news report, referring to Jonas Grönhög on behalf of Health and Social Services of Sweden, said:

“We don't want to make the same mistakes which the USA has done, we do not want to be prohibitionists because the war on drugs has been lost long ago. It is better to prevent marginalization of young people than jail them for soft drugs usage which are comparatively harmless. If we allow the sale of alcohol, there is no reason to ban the soft drugs no longer.”

Cannabis products are going to be available in the pharmacies in Sweden as non-prescription medicine since April 20 in 2012 and customers more than 18-year-old can buy 10 grams at once, the report mentioned further.

However, the story, mentioned its source “420 Dagbladet, Stockholm, December 19, 2011,” can’t not be confirmed anywhere else and apparently have no reality.
