JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The headmistress of a private school has been shot dead by an ex-employee of the school on Tuesday afternoon. The killer committed suicide after killing the headmistress.

The incident was took place at Episcopal School at about 1:30 pm local time.
According to details; Shane Schumerth, who was fired from the school, arrived back at campus with a gun hidden in a guitar case. Police rushed back to the site after receiving reports of a person with a gun, and the school was placed on lockdown.
Police only found the bodies of Dale Regan, head of the school, and the gunman who also shot himself after killing Regan. No students were injured.
The gunman was identified by the school staff; but no other information was released immediately about the 28-year-old killer.
Dale Regan worked at the Episcopal School for more than 30 years, starting as a teacher and going on to become the first female to hold the school's top position.
