OTTAWA, Canada (Fri, Mar. 02) – Keeping in view the nuclear perspective of both nations; Iran-Israel confrontation in Middle East could lead to a disaster for the whole world and this is nothing hidden that Israel is running short of their popularity with Obama and his administration.
Israel-Iran Confrontation: How Netanyahu's Canadian visit will affect Washington and Middle East..?? |
The above-mentioned fact has forced Israel to look for some new friends in the region not only to support them against Iran but to have some weight when it will present their case to their old ally United States.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaches Ottawa Friday (March 02), hoping to look for Canada’s support for any future actions against Iran before he forwards to Washington on Sunday, where he is scheduled to meet with U.S. President barrack Obama on Monday (March 05).
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen J. Harper has shown a very pro-Netanyahu stance in the past few weeks, which has certainly enticed Mr. Netanyahu to reroute his visit to Washington via Canada.
Not only Mr. Harper but other Canadian officials have been reiterating the country as Israel’s “best friend,” at a time when President Obama and his administration have stepped back a bit from Israel and Mr. Netanyahu, who will certainly use freshly committed Canadian support to have better influence in the upcoming meeting with U.S. President.
Moreover, Canadian Prime Minister’s statement last month about Iran’s “dangerous” development of a nuclear weapons program may also attracted Mr. Netanyahu to request Canada’s support for “initiating war” against Iran, something which they wouldn’t expect from the Obama administration at present point of time.
