GAZA, Palestine – According to Palestinian medics statement on Saturday morning; 12 Palestinians were killed and more than 20 injured in a series of Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip.

According to media reports referring Israeli military sources; Israel launched extensive airstrikes after Palestinians fired dozens of rockets and mortar rounds into southern Israel starting Friday morning, wounding four people, including a critical one.
Zohair al-Qaisi, the head of the militant Popular Resistance Committees, and one of his companions Mahmud Hanani were killed in one of the several Israeli strikes. According to details; both of the militant fighters were traveling through the Tel El-Hawa neighborhood west of Gaza City, when their car was pounded by Israeli jet fighters killing both of the occupants.
The PRC confirmed the death of their leaders and warned a fierce retaliation for Qaisi's death, and around 40 rockets and shells were afterward fired on southern Israel.
No reports were available immediately about the damages caused thereof.
