Coal Mine Accident Killed Nine in China's Yunnan Province

BEIJING, China - According to Xinhua News reports citing Yunnan Province local government officials; an eruption of poisonous gas in a coal mine killed nine while two are injured on Wednesday (March 16).  



The gloomy incident took place around 1:00 a.m. (local time) in a pit of the Jiala Coal Mine in Huangnihe town of southwest China's Yunnan Province.

Xinhua News further reported that 85 workers were in the mine at the time of the accident and gas was so dangerous that it killed 8 workers at the spot while one of the three injured died later in the hospital.
