115 Killed by Gaddafi Forces as Rebels Regained the Control of Ajdabiyah

MISRATA, Libya – Forces and troops loyal to besieged Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi have shoot up their attacks on the civilian residents of strategic rebel-held towns. Residents and witnesses said on Saturday that severe fight was in progress near the north-western city of Misrata.

Several civilians including children were reportedly dead on Friday as a result of shelling from pro-Gaddafi troops. According to sources; at least 115 people, including many civilians, have been killed in aggressive fight between Gaddafi forces and rebel fighters in the region over the past weeks.

On the other hand, Libyan government sources claimed taht at least 114 civilians have been killed in US-led airstrikes in the country.

Meanwhile, rebel forces have regained the control of the strategic city of Ajdabiyah from pro-Gaddafi forces. Gaddafi's troops had captured the strategic city two weeks ago.
