German nation mourned at the death of famous polar bear 'Knut'

BERLIN – The beloved animal friend ‘Knut’ has died on Saturday unexpectedly in the zoo's polar bear enclosure.

A zoo and the whole German nation grieved on the death of a beloved animal friend on Monday.

Knut, the famous polar bear who was ditched by his mother when he was just a little cub at Zoo Berlin in 2007 and then hand-raised by a zookeeper until he was old enough to take care of himself, was an international star who as a cuddly, fluffy cub graced magazine covers, movies and merchandise. His death at the young age of four is just a surprise for zookeepers and animal experts.
