Libya Updates - At Least 100 Civilians Killed in Coalition Attacks: Government Officials

TRIPOLI – A Libyan government spokesperson, Mussa Ibrahim; talking to media on Thursday, told that almost 100 civilians have been killed in coalition attacks launched on forces of Libyan leader Col. Muammar Gaddafi nearly a week ago.

He further told that he couldn’t provide the exact figure of death toll but it was getting closer to 100 for sure. On the question about the identities of the killed, he firmly told that they were civilians.

General Carter Ham, head of US Africa Command, said on Thursday that allied forces establishing a no-fly zone on Libya “cannot be sure” there have been no civilian deaths from bombings but are trying to be “very precise.”
