WASHINGTON, DC (Thu, Jun 14) – One of the finest violinists of the
20th and early-21st centuries Itzhak Perlman performs at the White House during
a dinner in honor of Israeli President Shimon Peres on Wednesday (June 13).
U.S. President Barack Obama presented Peres with the ‘Medal of Freedom’ at
the event, calling him the spirit of Israel itself and a man who earned his
place in history long ago.

Following the dinner, the more than 80 guests – including Vice President Joe
Biden, first lady Michelle Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former
President Bill Clinton - were entertained by a violinist Itzhak Perlman, who
opened with Fritz Kreisler’s “Tempo di Minuetto.”
