CAIRO, Egypt (Tue, Jun 12) – “They want to kill me. Save me,
Farid, find me a solution." This is the message delivered by Egypt's
ousted president Hosni Mubarak to his lawyer Farid al-Deeb.
Ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak accused authorities of plan to kill him |
Mubarak has reportedly accused the authorities of plan to
kill him in jail as his health conditions got worse. Mubarak is presently
serving a life sentence over protester killings during the uprising against his
regime last year.
Supporters of the 84-year-old former president have demanded authorities to shift him from jail to military hospital due to his deteriorating health as medical facilities in the prison hospital are not enough to treat Mubarak at this old age.
"Mubarak, like any prisoner on his place, must be transferred to the military hospital," said one of his supporters, Mohamed Zahran.

On June 2, the Cairo criminal court sentenced Mubarak to
life imprisonment after being declared guilty of giving orders to kill
protesters during an uprising in January 2011. He is serving his term in
Tora prison near Cairo.
Media reports Monday said prison doctors had to use a defibrillator as
Mubarak's heart had stopped twice. The interior ministry, however, dismissed
the reports, saying the ex-president was in "grave, but stable"
condition.
