Ailing Mubarak, the only dictator overthrown in the Arab Spring to be put in the dock, former interior minister Habib al-Adly and six others could face the scaffold if indicted of ordering the deaths of some of the about 850 people killed during the revolt.

They have all denied that they ordered police to shoot protesters or use deadly force during the uprising, in which demonstrators torched police stations across the country.

Hosni Mubarak and two of his sons Alaa and Gamal along with business partner Hussein Salem, who escaped to Spain, are also on trial over corruption issues.
Chief Judge Ahmed Rifaat is likely not only to issue a verdict but pass sentence on those that will be accused of wrongdoing.

As far as the live coverage of the historical verdict is concerned state television will charge foreign media between $7,000 and $10,000 to buy the coverage right, as reported by MENA.
