KANDAHAR - Reportedly, ten Taliban fighters surrendered themselves to Afghan government authorities on Monday in Kandahar, which is considered as the origin of Talibans.
Tooryali Weesa, Kandahar provincial governor, speaking in a welcome ceremony told that ten Taliban rebels under Mullah Aziz Agha surrendered and laid down their arms to join government.
Tooryali Weesa further told that Mullah Aziz Agha, also known as Mawlawi Taqi, was a Taliban commander working in Kandahar and the neighbouring Zabul and Uruzgan provinces.
The group also handed over weapons including a rocket-propelled grenade and some assault rifles to local authorities.

This is the second incident of such kind during last one month. In first incident, almost in mid February, a group of thirty Taliban militants surrendered in Kandahar to government.
