Larry Flynt is all set to pour half-a-million dollars for Casey Anthony to pose nude in his Hustler magazine. Flynt made the public announcement on the Nancy Grace show Thursday night.

He further declared that Casey would receive 10% of whatever money the magazine would make from the nude pictures of her that he wants to feature. He said that he believed that they would both make a great deal of money, and he’s correct.

Casey Anthony was acquitted on the 5th of July, by a jury of five men and seven women, of killing Caylee, her 2-year old daughter. Indian Chances to Pull Back in Second Test - - Absence of Zaheer Khan and Gautam Gambhir Can Hurt India

India v England (2nd Test) Live Today
NOTTINGHAM - - It was a historical 2000th test match played between India and England at Lord’s Cricket Ground and concluded on July 25th with a humiliating 196-run defeat to India. The big defeat by the hands of England has certainly dented the reputation of India, which is ranked number one in test ranking followed by South Africa and England respectively.

India captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni confirmed that premier fast bowler Zaheer Khan who had injured his hamstring in the Lord's Test, will not participate in the second match of the series against England starting in Nottingham on Friday.

S Sreesanth who did not take part in the historic first Test at the home of cricket is likely to be the replacement for the injured Zaheer.

Now the question arises; will India bounce back to level the series in the second test scheduled to be started on Friday (July 29) at Nottingham?

Indian prospects to bounce back look quite miserable in the absence of ace fast bowler Zaheer Khan and star batsman Gautam Gambhir due to injuries. On the other hand the psychological impact of big crash in first test is not very conducive for India to fight back strongly in the second test match against very formidable and threatening looking English cricket team.

India’s house on the other hand is not in order. Several top players are not in the best of their health and two important players are all but out of the team for the second test match that is commencing today at Nottingham.

Don: The Fourth Tropical Storm - - Heading towards the central Gulf of Mexico

Tropical Storm Don churned into the central Gulf of Mexico
Storm watches were posted from the Texas-Mexico border north to Galveston Island as Tropical Storm Don moves through the Gulf of Mexico on track for landfall on the Texas coast late tomorrow.

Don, the fourth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, was 545 miles (877 kilometers) east-southeast of Corpus Christi, Texas, heading west-northwest at 10 miles per hour with maximum winds of 40 mph, according to a National Hurricane Center bulletin at 8 a.m. East Coast time today.

Maps posted on the center’s website show Don making landfall after 1 a.m. July 30 in the Corpus Christi area.

“Don should be at least a strong tropical storm at landfall,” AccuWeather Inc. meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski said on the State College, Pennsylvania, forecaster’s website.

Storms are watched closely because they are a threat to oil and natural gas interests in the Gulf, home to 31 percent of U.S. oil output and coastal refineries account for 7.61 million barrels a day, or 42 percent of U.S. capacity.
Energy companies have begun pulling some workers from their facilities in the Gulf as a precaution. Royal Dutch Shell Plc said it’s evacuating about 70 non-essential workers, while Apache Corp. and Anadarko Petroleum Corp., the two largest U.S. independent oil and gas producers by market value, said they are removing non-essential workers from some western Gulf operations.

Amir Khan knocks down Zab Judah IBF & WBA junior welterweight title boxing match

Amir Khan knocks down Zab Judah during the fourth round of their IBF & WBA junior welterweight title boxing match, Saturday, July 23, 2011
Amir Khan won a second piece of the 140-pound title Saturday night, stopping veteran Zab Judah with a body punch in the fifth round of a scheduled 12-round unification bout.

Khan threw a right hand that landed just at the belt line of Judah, who went to the canvas. Judah stayed there on his knees as referee Vic Drakulich counted him out at 2:47 of the fifth round.

Judah acted as if he was surprised to be counted out, but got up and went to his corner as Khan celebrated with his cornermen. Judah had earlier complained about being butted by Khan and was bleeding from his nose and cuts to his face.

The win was an impressive one for Khan, the former Olympic silver medalist who likes to call himself the best pound-for-pound boxer in England. He came in as a 5-1 favorite, and had no trouble against the southpaw Judah, using his quickness to beat him to the punch in almost every exchange.

Khan won the first four rounds on all three ringside scorecards.

Least 22 Dead with Scorching Heat Wave in Southern U.S.; Likely to Persist

Temperature Touching 100 Degrees in southern States of U.S.
A heat dome covering much of the central and southern United States is pushing temperatures into the triple digits and causing heat wave conditions. At least 22 people have reportedly expired from extreme heat. Those most at risk are elderly people and children.

The National Weather Service said, "These triple-digit temperatures are forecast to remain in place across the eastern U.S. through Saturday before cooling off slightly to the mid-90s by Sunday."

More than 141 million people in more than two dozen states were under a heat advisory or warning because of the soaring temperatures, the most recent in a series of heat waves that have scorched the country's midsection off and on since late May, the National Weather Service reported.

In Wichita, the largest city in the U.S. state of Kansas, the temperature is expected to touch 100 degrees every day up to next Tuesday. The city has already suffered the soaring heat 100 degrees or more on more than 24 days so far in 2011.

189th Birthday of Gregor Johann Mendel - - Biography, Early Days and Research Work

GREGOR MENDEL:

Gregor Johann Mendel (July 20, 1822[1] – January 6, 1884) was a Czech-German Augustinian friar and scientist, who gained posthumous fame as the figurehead of the new science of genetics for his study of the inheritance of certain traits in pea plants. Mendel showed that the inheritance of these traits follows particular laws, which were later named after him. The significance of Mendel's work was not recognized until the turn of the 20th century. The independent rediscovery of these laws formed the foundation of the modern science of genetics.

BIOGRAPHY:

Mendel was born into an ethnic German family in Heinzendorf bei Odrau, Austrian Silesia, Austrian Empire (now Hynčice, Czech Republic), and was baptized two days later as Johann. He was the son of Anton and Rosine (Schwirtlich) Mendel, and had one older sister (Veronica) and one younger (Theresia). They lived and worked on a farm which had been owned by the Mendel family for at least 130 years. During his childhood, Mendel worked as a gardener, studied beekeeping, and as a young man attended Gymnasium (school) in Opava. Later, from 1840 to 1843, he studied practical and theoretical philosophy as well as physics at the University of Olomouc Faculty of Philosophy, taking a year off through illness. When Mendel entered the Faculty of Philosophy, the Department of Natural History and Agriculture was headed by Johann Karl Nestler, who conducted extensive research of hereditary traits of plants and animals, especially sheep. In 1843 Mendel began his training as a priest. Upon recommendation of his physics teacher Friedrich Franz, he entered the Augustinian Abbey of St Thomas in Brno in 1843. Born Johann Mendel, he took the name Gregor upon entering religious life. In 1851 he was sent to the University of Vienna to study under the sponsorship of Abbot C. F. Napp. At Vienna, his professor of physics was Christian Doppler. Mendel returned to his abbey in 1853 as a teacher, principally of physics, and by 1867, he had replaced Napp as abbot of the monastery.

Besides his work on plant breeding while at St Thomas's Abbey, Mendel also bred bees in a bee house that was built for him, using bee hives that he designed. He also studied astronomy and meteorology, founding the 'Austrian Meteorological Society' in 1865. The majority of his published works were related to meteorology.

Shuttle Atlantis Landing Back Thursday - - Last chance to see a shuttle in night sky … ever

Space Shuttle Atlantis Back to Earth on Thursday (July 21)

Space shuttle Atlantis will be returning to NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida for the very last time on Thursday morning, so there are just two days left to spot the winged spaceship soaring across the twilight morning sky.

Unfortunately, the viewing circumstances do not favor any views for most of North America, with the exception of some of the southernmost states,  as both Atlantis and the International Space Station will not be making favorable passes over the contiguous U.S. and Canada until after sunrise (during the daylight hours) through much of this week.

But skywatchers in some southern U.S. locations have chances to spot Atlantis fly overhead, weather permitting. NASA is retiring its shuttle fleet after Atlantis' current flight so there will be no more shuttles to seek out one this mission ends.
