Jailed Ukrainian former PM, Yulia Tymoshenko, shifted to hospital: BBC

According to BBC reports; Yulia Tymoshenko, imprisoned Ukrainian opposition leader, has been shifted to the hospital to be treated by a German doctor.

Eyewitnesses told that the former Prime Minister of the country was taken to a side doorway of the hospital in the city of Kharkiv with heavily guarded fleet. 

The 52-yesr-old Tymoshenko has been on hunger strike after charging prison guards of beating her during an earlier attempt to shift her to hospital. 

Diplomatic tensions within the European Union (EU) were caused due to concerns over her illness and non-provision of proper treatment, thereof.

Ukraine on Tuesday deferred a European summit after numerous EU leaders announced proscribe over the issue.

According to Reuters news agency; supporters shouted "Freedom for Yulia", as she was shielded by hospital staff after being shifted on a stretcher. 

Daughter of Tymoshenko told reporters that her mother suffered from a devastating back condition, and has lost 10kg (22lbs) while on hunger strike.

Yulia Tymoshenko was jailed for seven years in October for abusing her power while she was prime minister.
