Oscar Winner Songwriter Robert Sherman Passes Away at 86

LOS ANGELES (Wed, Mar. 07) – Famous songwriter, best known for ‘Mary Poppins’, Robert Sherman dies on Monday at the age of 86. Sherman grew up and lived most of his life in Beverly Hills.

According to statement from his family sources; Sherman passed away at the London Clinic of an age-related sickness.
Robert and his brother, Richard Sherman, won Oscar for best score for "Mary Poppins" in 1965 Academy Awards.
Their career milestone came with "Mary Poppins," the tale of an English nanny and her rowdy charges starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke.
Van Dyke remembered that the Sherman brothers were "deeply involved" during the shooting of "Mary Poppins."
