LAHORE - After the issuance of arrest warrants of Pervez Musharraf, last Saturday by a Pakistani Anti-Terrorism Court; All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) leaders are claiming a ‘constitutional immunity for Musharraf’ which is seriously thought, by those who know about law, as a political trick to confuse the case of Benazir Bhutto murder case.
Dr Khalid Ranjha, former Law Minister, and Raja Abdul Rahman, former Deputy Attorney General were of the same view that Pervez Musharraf not subject to any ‘constitutional immunity’ as he is involved allegedly in a criminal case and most importantly Musharraf is not a sitting President of Pakistan.
Raja Abdul Rahman further mentioned that even if Pervez Musharraf want to defend himself or want to ask any dispensation in the case, first he would have to present himself before the court as an accused, as arrest warrants had already been issued against him.
