New Delhi, India - Breaking News: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been set free after being arrested for twenty-four hours and been investigated on the airport and Directorate Revenue of Investigation (DRI) office by the different investigation authorities. But he can’t leave India as his passport is still in the custody of Indian Authorities.
According to India TV channel, his two managers are also released by the DRI. Earlier it was reported that he is expected to be appeared in court today; but later on he was allowed to leave but his passport in still with the Indian Authorities and he has to appear before the court on Feb. 17, He can’t leave India for now. Most probably he would be fined for the breach of rules for travelling with foreign currency more than allowed amount of $10,000.
Reportedly, he is released on the surety of Pakistan High Commission in India.
Earlier, yesterday evening Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, famous Pakistani singer, has been detained at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport New Delhi by Indian Authorities. He has been humiliated in the cover of investigations on account of travelling with cash amount of $100,000 ($50,000 with the singer and $50,000 with his companion). Other $24,000 has been recovered from his luggage.
