Dengue Outbreak in Punjab -- Section 144 Imposed as Recommended by Sri Lankan Health Experts

LAHORE, Pakistan (Sept. 16) – In efforts to control the spreading menace of dengue virus Punjab government is taking decisive steps in coordination with the Sri Lankan medical team, called by Punjab government, having special expertise to fight against dengue virus.  



Section 144 Imposed as Recommended by Sri Lankan Health Experts
As per the recommendation by the Sri Lankan experts’ team; the Punjab government has forced section 144 in Lahore to control the dengue virus spreading through a specific breed of mosquitoes.

Under imposition of section 144; car washing in streets, on roads and at public places of Lahore will be illegal, said DCO (District Coordination Officer) Lahore Ahad Khan Cheema.

The DCO said further that violations under section 144 will be resulted in a legal action against those who drop water outside their houses, shops or at any open place, adding that to comply with the law people must have to cover the water tanks of their houses.
