Pakistan-born Zubair Ahmed Held in U.S. for Alleged Support to Lashkar-e-Taiba (L.e.T)

ISLAMABAD – An American national, with Pakistan origin, has been reportedly arrested by U.S. authorities for providing an alleged support to banned militant outfit ‘Lashkar-e-Taiba’.

According to details; the 24-year-old Zubair Ahmad, a resident of north Virginia, was accused by U.S. prosecutors of making and posting on YouTube a propaganda video in support of Lashkar-e-Taiba in September 2010.

Further he was accused of lying during an investigation conducted by U.S. investigators about his involvement in making and uploading the video on Youtube.

If found guilty of providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization and making false statements in a terrorism investigation; Ahmad could faces up to 23 years imprisonment.

In an FBI report it was also disclosed that Ahmad received "indoctrination and training" from Lashkar-e-Taiba while he lived in Pakistan when he was a teenager.
