Rabbi Jonathan Sandler and other victims of Toulouse school victims buried in Givat Shaul cemetery, Jerusalem


JERUSALEM, Israel (Wed, March 21) – The four slain victims of Ozar Hatorah Jewish school shooting; including rabbi Jonathan Sandler, his two sons Arieh and Gabriel of 5 and 4 years of age respectively and 8-year-old school head’s daughter Miriam Monsonego, were buried on Wednesday in Jerusalem, the Associated Press reported.

All four were killed when a gunman on a black Yamaha motorcycle started firing on Monday morning at an area which serves as the drop-off point for the children of Ozar Hatorah Jewish day school in Toulouse, southwest France.

As reported earlier; the bodies of the victims were flown to Israel early on Wednesday.

More than 2,000 mourners attended the funeral services at the Givat Shaul cemetery, AFP reported, including Eva Sandler – widow of rabbi Jonathan Sandler and the elder brother of Miriam. The rabbi and his sons were wrapped in white prayer shawls while Miriam was wrapped in a blue cover embroidered with gold.

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Yishai and parliamentary speaker Reuven Rivlin were the other notable personalities among the attendees.
