Death Toll Reached 55 in Karachi During Last Eight Days - - Reman Malik to Meet Security Officials Today

KARACHI – The death toll in the recent wave of violence in Karachi has reached to 55 in the last eight days. Reportedly, eleven people were killed in target killing yesterday in the different areas of Karachi.

The increasing number of target killing is alarming and the residents of Karachi - once the ‘City of Lights’ – are forced to live in fear and terror. Despite of the deteriorating conditions of law and order in the city the security forces are not only unable to stop the target killing but they couldn’t arrest any of the culprits; which clearly pointing towards the involvement of influential hands in this target killing.

Samaa News (private news channel) aired the footage of police force that is sleeping in their mobile vans in their uniforms. It’s quite embarrassing but they have their own “lame excuses”. In this situation one can understand how serious is the government in stopping this target killing in the ‘City of Quaid’.

The most-affected areas include Liyari, Orangi Town, Gulistan-e-Johar, Korangi and Liaqatabad. Federal Interior Minister, Rehman Malik, one again issued his verbal warning to the terrorists to stop the killing otherwise they would be tackled severely. Anyone can imagine that how seriously terrorist are taking this warning!

Rehman Malik is expected to meet Director General Rangers and high officials of other security forces to discuss the situation in Karachi and to devise the effective security plan for Karachi.
