U.S. Trying to Justify Their Likely Military Invasion in Libya: Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela

CARACAS - U.S. military invasion is the major goal of the United States' criticisms of Libyan Col. Moammar Gaddafi; stated by Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela.

According to Venezuelan state media; talking on Monday Chavez told that U.S. was deforming the situation and embellishing things to justify their own likely invasion behind the Libyan crisis.

The statement is clearly a reaction of the statement by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in which she pointed out that United States was exploring "all possible options," and that "nothing is off the table so long as the Libyan government continues to threaten and kill Libyan citizens." The statement from Clinton came after the Monday’s meeting of the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.

Hugo Chavez, in his televised address in Caracas on Monday, suggested replacing tanks, planes and marines with a goodwill delegation that can convince them for no more killings in Libya, as they are our brothers.

Chavez further said Gaddafi "has been my friend and our friend for a long time" in remarks broadcast on Venezuelan state television.
