12 Killed in Two Landslide Incidents in Tacloban City, Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – According to a radio report; two separate landslide incidents in Tacloban City, reportedly, killed twelve people.

Chief of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), Benito Ramos, said that the reported casualties in the landslide incident are yet to be confirmed.

The radio report mentioned that two days’ continuous rain in Tacloban City has also caused flooding, isolating some areas in the city other than landslides in Barangay Cabalawan and Barangay Nulatula burying seven and five people respectively. 

In the mean time NDRRMC chief, Benito Ramos, informed that rescue operation teams along with military men from infantry battalion have been sent to the place of incident for recovery operations. Local government will also assist them in the process.
