The crash sparked a huge fire that destroyed at least 30 houses within the residential area where the plane crashed.
The head of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, Ramon Gutierrez, said the six-to-eight-seat Beechcraft Queen Air had sent out an emergency call shortly after take-off and requested the Manila airport control tower for relanding, but the plane did not make it.
He said the plane, owned by Innovators Technology Inc., was bound for San Jose, Mindoro to pick up cargo.
About 20 people were shifted to the Parañaque Doctor’s Hospital, the Paranaque Medical Center, and the South Super Highway Hospital for treatment of burns. Rescuers also recovered the bodies of a child and an infant, said Gwendolyn Pang, secretary-general of the Philippine National Red Cross.
