BANGALORE – Once Bollywood ‘Dream Girl’ Hema Malini register her political victory in Rajya Sabha by-election from Karnataka on Thursday.
The actress cum politician, supported by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), actually out-numbered her opponent rival K. Marulasiddappa, an independent candidate supported by central ruling Congress party and Janata Dal (Secular).
However, Hema Malini will have only a one-year term, ending on April 2, 2012. She has enjoyed a full six-year term between 2003 and 2009 in the Rajya Sabha.
