TRIPOLI – Reportedly, Col. Gaddafi has pulled back his forces from the rebel-held Benghazi on Monday as a result of destruction caused by air attacks of Western Allies.
The airstrikes of western allies destroyed the most of the armour and air defense system that led them to retreat.
According to China’s News Agency Xinhua reports; Gaddafi-loyal forces who were heading to control the last stronghold of rebels are now drawn back about 100 Km near the strategic town of Ajdabiya, south of Benghazi.
In these airstrikes which started this weekend; the residential compound of Libya leader Muammar Gaddafi was also destroyed partially.
Col Muammar Gaddafi termed the western attack as "a crusader war" against the Libyan people. He further said on Sunday that the airstrikes were "terrorist means" and aimed a "long war."
Reacting to Gaddafi's warning, a top French official said that the international military action against Libya is likely to last "a while."
