UK Changes the Student Visa System - Problems for Sub-continent Students

LONDON – UK government has introduced a revamped student visa system, squeezing the entrance standards and the post-study work route. This change in student visa system might hamper the educational future of many students from sub-continent, especially Indians.

Chris Dix, Regional Director UK Border Agency, told media persons, there will be restraints on work placements on courses provided by non-university sponsors. He further told that the new rules and regulation are being introduced to stop misuse of the student visa system by corrupt agents.

In the current visa system graduates were able to do jobs of any level including unskilled work but the new rules has stopped this opportunity which will certainly create problems for the students who were bearing their educational expenses working there during the studies. Now according to changed rules; provision of work will be available for the students of only publicly funded universities and educational colleges while the remaining students would not have the right to do so.
