TRIPOLI – Rebel forces are advancing in Libya swiftly after the coalition strikes hurt the Gaddafi forces severely. Yesterday, it was reported that Anti-Gaddafi forces regained the control of Ajdabiya on Saturday.
Libyan rebel sources today claimed that they've captured the coastal town of Brega in eastern Libya from forces loyal to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. The rebel sources further told that their recent military success is due to British and French air attacks on government armoured vehicles.
Encouraged by the coalition airstrikes, the rebels are now targeting Al-Bisher, a town another 30 kilometres west along the road to Colonel Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte.
In the meantime, France has reacted to rebel appeals from the city of Misrata where pro-Gaddafi forces have been reportedly terrorising the civilian population.
