Assassinated Federal Minister Shahbaz Bhatti Laid to Rest Friday Evening

FAISALABAD, March 4: Funeral services of Shahbaz Bhatti, murdered federal minister, were offered at his family graveyard in a suburban village on Friday evening, in the presence of huge number of grieved supporters estimated to be 10,000.  



The body of late Shahbaz Bhatti, who was shot dead by terrorists in Islamabad on Wednesday, was carried to his native village, Chak No. 51-GB, Khushpur, in Sammundri Tehsil, on board a helicopter from the Federal Capital. 

Two brothers of the assassinated minister Shahbaz Bhatti, who has been settled in Italy and Canada, arrived at their native place to attend the funeral of their brother Shahbaz Bhatti.

Funeral service were led by Bishop of Lahore Dr. Alexander Jan Malik, who was accompanied by Bishop Samuel Azraya, Bishop Jan Samuel, Bishop Joseph Coutts, Bishop Andrew Frances, Father Khalid Rasheed Asi, Father Andrew Nasara, Father Parvez Emanuel, Father Anjum Nazeer, Bishop Robin Anthony and Bishop Laurence.   

Number of politicians from Punjab and Islamabad attended the funeral; including Governor Punjab Sardar Lateef Khosa, Jehangir Badar, Raja Riaz, and Rana Saeed Khan.
