FAISALABAD – Breaking News: The destructive blast in Civil Line (Faisalabad) caused harassment among the people of the area. Due to an important business area the place of blast was full of working staff in the offices of different companies.
PIA regional office is one of the most-effected buildings due to blast; where many deaths are reported including a senior official of PIA named as Aneela. Window glasses were broken in the surrounding area and Regency Plaza (just 500 meter away from the point of blast). According to eye witnesses; many people were injured by the broken glass cuts in Regency Plaza and other adjacent buildings.
According to Mr. Riffat, DG Rescue 1122, sixteen dead bodies were shifted to DHQ Hospital and 5 were shifted to Allied Hospital; he was talking to FM 101 (a local FM Radio Station). He further told that rescue operations are being affected by the people gathering around the blast area. He appealed people to go to hospitals for donating blood rather than making rescue operation difficult.
When he was asked about the reason behind the blast, he told that it is not yet confirmed but most probably the blast was caused by the explosive in the car bearing number plate (LEH 4697); which was a Toyota branded car of 2007 model.
