VISHAKAPATNAM - Cricket and showbiz have been going along for quite sometime; but now they have merged in a way that can be termed as “CricShow”, “Showket” or “CrowBiz”, what ever you like.
The two heavily fan-followed areas entertainment and sports teamed up in the form of “Celebrity Cricket League” or CCL in India where both, Cricket and Showbiz stars are like gods for their fans.
The opening match of the Celebrity Cricket League proved to be one that set an impressive example of what one can expect when the matches begin in June this year. Amidst 30,000 strong fans that gathered to watch on in the small town of Vishakapatnam, Team South Superstars took on Team Mumbai Heroes in a first-of-its-kind ‘friendly’ cricket match.
Despite a bad start by losing first wicket on first ball; playing first Team South Super Star piled up huge total of 192 on the board in 20 overs losing 8 wickets. Team Mumbai Heroes never looked to catch up the mighty target and managed just 156 giving up the match by 36 runs to South Superstars.
