'Demonstrations will not be tolerated at all': Saudi Interior Ministry

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – After a small protest in eastern region of Saudi Arabia; a statement came from Interior Ministry that ‘demonstrations will not be tolerated’. Reportedly, the about 100 people from Shiite minority tried to stage a demonstration in the town of al-Hufouf. 

The Saudi Interior Ministry, in an announcement Saturday, said the kingdom prohibits all protests because they oppose Islamic laws and society's values.

The ministry said some people have tried to go around the law to "achieve illegitimate aims," and it warned that security forces were authorized to act against violators.

In the subjected demonstrations which came after Friday prayers; the Shiites were demanding the release of arrested members of the community which includes Shiite cleric who was detained last week for calling for a constitutional realm.
