Trafalgar Square to Tahrir Square: Egyptians Celebrating "Freedom From Mubarak"

LONDON - Egypt President Hosni Mubarak stepped down on Friday after 18 days of demonstrations.

Egypt is now in the hands of the high command of the armed forces, headed by the defence minister.

The end of 30-year regime is not only being celebrated in Egypt; but every Egyptian anywhere in the world is among (by heart and soul) those who have gathered at Tahrir Square to celebrate their “Freedom from Mubarak.

So is the case with London; people are gathering in London's Trafalgar Square in unity with the activists in Egypt, who made the country's long-time president to quit.

According to BBC reports; the Amnesty-organised rally, at Trafalgar Square, has a live TV link-up with Tahrir Square in Cairo, which has been the crucial point of the demonstrations in Egypt.

Amnesty says the event is in support of people living under suppressive rules in North Africa and the Middle East.

The atmosphere around the Trafalgar Square is depicting quite a bit as in Tahrir Square with the Middle Eastern music and banners stating "victory to the Egyptian revolution," Gabriel Gatehouse of BBC reported.
