Libyan War Claimed at Least 20 Lives of Children in Misrata: Latest Report by UNICEF

GENEVA – According to a report by UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) released today in Geneva; approximately twenty children have been killed in Libya's third-largest city of Misrata during the last three weeks. Many of the children have sustained critical injuries due to bullets fires.

Although rebel forces succeeded to hold their control over Misrata in spite of continued attacks by the forces loyal to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi; the ongoing war is not only killing adult civilians but it is killing the minors of the age ranging from 9 months to 10 years.

UNICEF has also warned in the reports that thousands of children are at the brink of death due to scarcity of food and safe drinking water.
