Nine workers killed in chemical plant explosion in China: Xinhua news agency

BEIJING, China - - According to China’s Xinhua news agency on Thursday; an explosion in Fuxing Chemical Plant killed at least 9 workers in northeast China on Wednesday.

Reportedly, fire broke out in the plant after a blast at about 10:10 pm (1410 GMT) Wednesday at a three-storey building at chemical plant in Daqing city, Heilongjiang province.

At the time of blast total of 14 workers were inside the plant building and nine of them were killed immediately on the spot; while five of them succeeded to run away from the scene. 

The cause of the blast is still a mystery even after controlling the broken out fire; but investigations and rescue operations are going on to explore the real cause behind the accident.
