NEW DELHI – Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the spiritual guru, passed away at Puttaparthi on Sunday morning after battling illness for four weeks. He enjoyed a large following in India and abroad that cut across religious lines.
Whole Indian nation is mourned over the death of Sai Baba. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh mourned the death of Sathya Sai Baba, calling him an "iconic" spiritual leader who inspired millions to lead a "moral and meaningful" life.
Expressing "deep and profound sadness" over Baba's death, the prime minister said he was a spiritual leader who inspired millions to lead a moral and meaningful life even as they followed the religion of their choice.
